An examination of the role of computer technology in education.
Producer: Andrew Zimmerman
Uploaded by: Andrew Zimmerman
We examine the role of computer technology in education. The overwhelming focus on tools, rather than an emphasis on teaching critical thinking and creativity, is doing a great disservice to our children, say guests Langdon Winner, of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and Todd Alan Price, of the University of Wisconsin. Also, Heinrich Arnold, a New York State middle school teacher, speaks of his school's efforts to reduce computer usage, and the positive results they are seeing.

Part 2 of this series on education will be posted in two weeks.
