Scott Ritter is a former Marine intelligence officer who served as a chief United Nations weapons inspector in Iraq from 1991 to 1998. A ballistic missile technology expert, Ritter is one of the few officials with a working knowledge of Saddam Hussein's weapons systems to publicly and aggressively oppose the Bush administration's disastrous war in Iraq BEFORE the invasion in March 2003.

His latest book is titled, "Iraq Confidential: The Untold Story of America's Intelligence Conspiracy."

Scott Ritter delivered an address in New Haven, CT on September 17, 2005, titled: "Parallel Deceptions: The Bush Agenda for War in Iraq and Iran". In his talk, Ritter focused on the lies and distortions about "weapons of mass destruction" and Saddam Hussein's false connection with 9/11 used by President Bush to gain support for his war against Iraq. Ritter also warns that a similar propaganda campaign is now underway to justify a future military confrontation with Iran over its nuclear capability.

The talk was recorded at the United Church on the Green in New Haven, Connecticut, an event sponsored by Squeaky Wheel Productions, nonprofit distributors of Between The Lines Radio newsmagazine.
