I began by discussing last week's special section in NY Times devoted to Russian subversion of our elections, pointing out the serious omission the Ukraine coup and the lie in about Russia invading Ukraine in search for new bogeyman and new Cold War. I explain reasons for Putin wanting to damage Clinton and later, with reference to Kavanaugh hearing, how her “standing by” her sexual predator husband and vilifying his victims cost her the women's vote,

I then read from Mairead Maguire's powerful essay against the demonization of Russia and the crimes of NATO and the potential of war, followed by noting Trump's comments in the UN on Iran and the more bellicose by John Bolton at another forum in NY the same day, threatening all sanction breakers with “terrible consequences and Pompeo's bewilderment at Europe's attempt to find ways to trade with Iran and avoid sanctions.

I finish with update on Russia blaming Israel for the shooting down of Russian reconnaissance plane by Syrian anti-aircraft missile and Russian military's unhappiness with Putin's attempt to explain it as a mistake.
