In this segment, Sean talks about the case of Keith Lamar (AKA Bomani Shakur) who's currently on his final appeal of his death sentence. Keith stands convicted of masterminding the death of 9 snitch prisoners during the Lucasville uprising of 1993, which he denies.

Modern Slavery delves into the conception of a modern slavery through an explicitly radical discussion of the history and present condition of wage economies and wage slavery. Amidst the anguish felt by the participants over the most recent deaths of people of color, at the hands of the police the crowds gave promise to pulling together, nationally in a sustained effort to confront racist police policies that give police the license to kill Black and Brown!

This week itâs Maxâs turn in the shame chair as we conclude our âwalk of shameâ round by queuing up the (1950) Classic ALL ABOUT EVE Based on the story The Wisdom of Eve by Mary Orr, All About Eve is an elegantly bitchy backstage story revolving around aspiring actress Eve Harrington (Anne Baxter). Tattered and forlorn, Eve shows up in the dressing room of Broadway mega-star Margo Channing (Bette Davis), weaving a melancholy life story to Margo and her friends. Taking pity on the girl, Margo takes Eve as her personal assistant. Before long, it becomes apparent that naïve Eve is a Machiavellian conniver who cold-bloodedly uses Margo, her director Bill Sampson (Gary Merill), Lloydâs wife Karen (Celeste Holm), and waspish critic Addison De Witt (George Sanders) to rise to the top of the theatrical heap. Also appearing in All About Eve is Marilyn Monroe, introduced by Addison De Witt as âa graduate of the Copacabana school of dramatic art.â This is but one of the hundreds of unforgettable lines penned by writer/director Joseph L. With the conclusion of the recent UN Climate Summit in Lima, Peru, there was very little serious action addressing one of the most significant threats, namely the release of Methane Gas from the Arctic, a Green house gas 100 times more poetent than Carbon Dioxide.
On this week's Global Research News Hour, we continue the discussion on the threats to global climate with a special emphasis on the Arctic melt. University of Ottawa based climate scientist Paul Beckwith expands on the Methane question and explains how if immediate action is not taken, virtually nothing being recommended at these Climate summits will make much of a difference to the resulting climate chaos.
Following this discussion, prominent investigative journalist Dahr Jamail, better known for his unembedded reporting on the US occupation of Iraq ten years ago, discusses the climate threat through the lens of independent media. He elaborates on the failure of both main-line politicians and environmental organizations like 350.org to confront the depth of the climate predicament.
