Host Alex Wise recently toured their elegant San Francisco home and saw for himself how they are using solar panels, strategically-placed windows, reclaimed wood, and drought-resistant gardening to make style seriously sustainable. They talk about their process for putting it all together, the increasing affordability of sustainable home solutions like rooftop solar panels and LED lighting, and the growing fashionability of being ecologically responsible.

Justice Belied: The Unbalanced Scales of International Criminal Justice

Phil Taylor and David Jacobs, both contributors to the new book, "Justice Belied: The Unbalanced Scales of International Criminal Justice", discuss the late Professor Michael Mandelâs thesis that the peace-promoting international law regime under the United Nations Charter has been undermined by the international criminal law movement.
Michael Mandel, law professor and Renaissance man, wrote pioneering analyses concluding that the international criminal law movement did more to promote war than it did to promote peace and justice. The movement negated the UN Charterâs pledge to end the scourge of war.
The International Criminal Court and the ad hoc international criminal tribunals end up justifying war by criminalizing the losers or regimes out of favour with the West.

I've had such a busy, busy week that I just woke up surprised in the bathtub. To my relief, the water was just cold--at first, I thought I was on ice and missing a couple-three kidneys. But I did manage to make it into WREK to cover my narcoleptic ass tonight with an unreeling of my "Stark Mockit" Show (get it? GET IT???) where I play the global financial collapse for painful laughs--and the weird thing about this one is that I actually did an intro that I am able to like without reservation. It's short, sweet, sick, and snarky...and hey, snarky tastes GOOD.
