Dickson discusses the recent BBC2 one-hour documentary, Rwanda's Untold Story, which, for the first time presents a host of credible witnesses and commentators challenging the narrative of Kagame the liberator. The interviewees who speak against Kagame have placed themselves in the dangerous "target range" of the US puppet Kagame regime.
Key question is cui bono, who benefited from the shoot down of the plane that killed Rwandan President Habyarimana, the spark which ignited the April 1994 war and massacres in Rwanda. The permanent removal of Habyarimana, the ending the Arusha Accords and the destruction of democracy were necessary for Kagame and the RPF to take power.
The tribunals are political organizations that administer "selective impunity," instead of the needed holistic approach that that evaluates and prosecutes all sides. Selective impunity does not yield justice, nor the grounds for reconciliation.

The Symphony was to perform Johannes Brahms' requiem. There was no violence, as the protesters were allowed to finish the short demonstration which can be viewed on youtube.
The two Phils discuss Black sports figures, including Joe Lewis, and give an introduction to the BBC2 documentary, Rwanda's Untold Story--which reflects the massacre of Blacks on all sides whose lives should have mattered but did not and never do to the imperialists.

Professor Steven Salaita - Academic Freedom and Related Matters

What is the University's purpose in contemporary society; propagate the power of the State and advance the bidding of wealthy elites or educate human beings? Prof. Salaita de-constructs UIUC's assertion that it was acting on behalf of students when it fired him for tweeting his anguish at the wanton murder of Palestinians during Israel's recent attack. He addresses the concept of "civility and "diversity" as control mechanisms resulting from the intrusion of corporate - " human resource" - ideology on the University by management top heavy administrations. His expertise is in American Indian Studies; he is versed in indigenous and occupying power relationships. During the Q&A he answers an assertion that Zionists are descendants of the original people of biblical Palestine and therefore entitled to the land because of their "indigenaity". The Q&A concludes on a question about the risks to the individual when speaking out against war crimes committed by Israel.

Shut Down the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant (TWO of TWO)

Given what we know today about earthquakes and Tsunamis the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant on the coast of the Pacific Ocean, roughly half way between San Francisco and Los Angeles would NOT be built and licensed. Why, after Fukushima, Diablo Canyon continues to operate - and why it should be shut down - is being discussed in this program in a conversation between Harvey Wasserman, Rochelle Becker and David Lochbaum.
In last week's program they covered seismic problems. On that evidence alone, they say, the plant needs to shut down. However there is more. In this part you will hear David Lochbaum make the case that Diablo Canyon has never complied with fire safety standards. And you will find out about a fundamental problem with Diablo Canyon's fish killing so-called Once Through Cooling system.
As of today, in the first week of October 2014, the whole complex story of the Diablo Canyon shut down keeps making breaking news. On October 3, 2014, the Alliance for Nuclear Responsibility first posted the re-desing option by the Bechtel Corporation for Diablo Canyons EPA mandated replacement of their Once Through fish killing cooling operation. Rochelle Becker from A4NR explains.
Harvey Wasserman is an anti nuclear campaigner and promoter of renewable energy with a 40 plus year track record. He edits the web site nukefree.org and has a weekly radio program, The Solartopia Green Power & Wellness Show, on the Progressive Radio Network. I'm using large parts of his radio program on PRN for this show in a mutual program exchange. Wasserman spoke with Rochelle Becker, co-founder of the Alliance for Nuclear Responsibility and David Lochbaum. He is a former nuclear engineer who worked for 17 years in nuclear power plants and now heads the Nuclear Safety Project of the Union of Concerned Scientists.
