2nd, "On March 21st, 2012 Higinio Ochoa III aka w0rmer, was arrested and charged with hacking law enforcement agency websites and posting the personal information of police officers online, as well as being accused of defacing a government website in Alabama. Hig was part of an Anonymous crew called the Cabincr3w." (Anon-Sweden support page). w0rmer will be released into a halfway house after 2 years of incarceration this August, however he'll be forced to live in Austin, TX, 4 hours from where his wife and now-1-year-old son live. Support folks are trying to raise $6,000 to help cover the move and some living expenses until both find gainful employment in Austin. Indi Romp Time! This week in The Q we go back and forth as we chat about award winning (2005) Film Me and You and Everyone we Know from âDir-Actorâ Miranda July. It tells the tale of a handful of disparate characters, both adults and children, who find themselves navigating the tricky waters of intimacy and apprehension at lifeâs various stages. Richard (John Hawkes) is a recent divorcé who is alternately exhilarated and terrified with his life and the world around him. Mahdi Darius Nazemroaya is a Sociologist and Research Associate at the Centre for Research on Globalization. He has served as an election observer recently both in Elsalvador and as detailed last week, in Syria. He was also present in Libya during the NATO military intervention there in 2011. He has contributed dozens of articles to globalresearch.ca. He was in Winnipeg Manitoba recently where I had a chance to interview him about some of the major developments on the world scene. U.S. Government's $1.3 Trillion Purchasing Power Could Lift 8 Million Workers Out of Poverty

Robert Hiltonsmith, Demos Policy Analyst & co-author of new Demos report Underwriting Good Jobs
Eight million workers rely on low-wage jobs supported by the federal government s $1.3 trillion in annual spending according to a new report by the public policy organization Demos . Building on Pres. Obama s executive order that raised the minimum wage for hundreds of thousands of federally contracted workers, it calls for raising labor standards more broadly. The Good Jobs Executive Order advocated in the report would apply to the entire workforce of federally-supported employers significantly benefiting women and minorities " who make up a large percentage of low-wage workers in the federal purchasing footprint. It advocates for spending agencies to incorporate higher workforce standards when evaluating and awarding federal contracts including collective bargaining rights, living wages and good benefits, compliance with workplace protection laws and other applicable business regulations, and limits on excessive executive compensation.

Hundreds of low-wage federal contract workers working for fifty companies doing business at federal sites " like the National Zoo, Pentagon and Union Station " walked off their jobs . Led by an army of working women dressed like Rosie the Riveter, they marched through the Smithsonian National Zoo, where workers are joining the Good Jobs Nation campaign for the first time. This is the 8th strike by low-wage federal contract workers in the past year.

Representative Ellison said that the Progressive caucus of the House supports these actions and plans to submit a proposal to the White House that would focus on low-wage workers employed by federal contractors. Ellison said he is unsure of how the President would respond to a proposal for executive action, but the representative pointed to President Obama s past actions as evidence that he would likely be sympathetic. Ellison underscored that he supported Good Jobs Policy as means of significantly reducing gender inequality in the workforce.

Even though she was not a blood relative Miracle was my Grand Daughter. Her mother calls me Dad and her sister calls me Grand Dad.
She passed away yesterday at 8 months old. In her short life she touched many people. She was 3 months premature and her mother died and came back during her birth.
She was a fighter and even though she passed she is a winner.
I will probably be joining you in the not too distant future, until then you are in my heart.

The show is an unpredictable mix flowing like a river between moods, often with an edge or in a melancholy minor key. On occasion, Out of the Woods features interviews and live in-studio performances with national and international touring musicians. Past guests have included artists such as Bela Fleck, Si Kahn, Brown Bird, Dana Robinson, Steve Gillette & Cindy Mangsen, Kate MacLeod, Bill Bourne, Karl Shiflett, Rachel Bissex, Darryl Purpose, Bow Thayer, Cosy Sheridan and many others.
