Paul Crouch Memorial Backwards Masking Show!

In commemoration of Paul Crouch Sr cacking it, WHOO HOO!!!, we have an excellent show in store for us tonight! A few years ago, through the gracious courtesy of St Byron Werner, a crucial audiotape fell into my mitts with a 1982 exposé conducted by Paul Crouch and his similarly named son on hidden satanic influences in rock music, along with news reports tying Negativland's "Christianity Is Stupid" to a teen's murderous rampage. I had a buttload of other preachers raving about backwards masking and satanic influences, and figuring out this show bedevilled me for literal years because most of the speakers followed the very same talking points. How to integrate all that into a show? I spun my wheels until I hit on the solution. Of COURSE--make them step on each other's lines and fistfight! We have a tag-team wrestling match between Paul Crouch Senior and Junior and their opponent Tom Garguilo, whose claim to fame was being a third-string ringer in the band Wild Cherry--remember "Play that Funky Music, White Boy"? Thanks to my sly editing, no one in his audience remembers it either, hehheh. Add sweaty chunks of Jimmy Swaggart, some forgotten creepy circuit-riding xtian hack motivational speaker blowhard with a bizarre metaphor involving a little girl with a knife on a string, the always hysterical Jack Van Impe, the H.G. Players (as in "Holy Ghost")--and ohhh, seekers, the inspired DUETS--! Paul Crouch Junior does leaden star turns with Hayseed Dixie, Wendy O. Williams, Pink Floyd, Ozzy Osbourne, and a rousing extended disco version of "Stairway to Heaven" that clocks in at over seven minutes of delicious funky electronic cheese! "Dada dat dat da daaaaa--STAIRWAY!" And seekers--listen for the Pink Floyd sequence when the Crouches start debating the meaning of the word "bugger" in ways that will make you squirt milk out yer nose when you haven't been drinking any.

This version of the program is divided into 6 segments so broadcasters who desire to use this content can insert your station info, etc. The segments vary in length, but I try to keep them approximately 30 minutes in most cases.
Out of the Woods is an earthy, wires and wood, mostly acoustic program featuring some of the best new and established artists from the worlds of folk, bluegrass, singer-songwriters, alt.country, Americana, classic country, old-time, Celtic, and everything that falls in between. The show is an unpredictable mix flowing like a river between moods, often with an edge or in a melancholy minor key. On occasion, Out of the Woods features interviews and live in-studio performances with national and international touring musicians. Past guests have included artists such as Bela Fleck, Si Kahn, Brown Bird, Dana Robinson, Steve Gillette & Cindy Mangsen, Bill Bourne, Karl Shiflett, Rachel Bissex, Darryl Purpose, Bow Thayer, Cosy Sheridan and many others. Out of the Woods grew out of Jon 'Chip' Colcord's former acoustic programs, The Song Swap and Music For The Mountain, separate folk and bluegrass programs which aired in New Hampshire during the 1990s. As a child, Colcord grew up a ravenous music fan with an ear for both rock and folk, from Arlo Guthrie to Aerosmith. A philanthropic figurehead, Christmas Mother is a Richmond tradition in its 79th year. This Times-Dispatch fund drive program has its logistics managed by the Salvation Army. Last year's Christmas Mother raised more than $307,000 -- an incredible amount. This year, the monies raised will support as many as 35,000 children affected by poverty with gifts. The gifts are not just toys, but clothing and nutritious food they might not otherwise have. Markel is well-known as an engaged member of Richmond's community giving initiatives, and she's excited to wear the mantle -- or the 'party bopper' -- of the Christmas Mother.

âI have news for everybody, no, there is never going to be one agreement that solves climate [change]â says Christiana Figueres, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. Greg Dalton and Figueres discusses the challenges facing international climate change negotiations. But there is hope, she says, âwe are moving towards a tipping point, a technological and economical tipping point...that will allow us to move into a completely different future.â
Ms. Figueres was appointed Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in 2010, and in 2013 was reappointed for a second three year term. With a long and distinguished career in climate change negotiations, Christiana was a member of the Costa Rican climate change negotiating team 1995- 2009, a member of the Executive Board of the Clean Development Mechanism, and a Vice President of the UNFCCC Bureau.
Christiana initiated her life of public service as Minister Counselor at the Embassy of Costa Rica in Bonn, Germany in 1982. Moving to the USA, Christiana was Director of Renewable Energy in the Americas (REIA) and in 1995 founded the non-profit Center for Sustainable Development of the Americas (CSDA) which she directed for eight years. Christiana designed and helped to establish national climate change programs in Guatemala, Panama, Colombia, Argentina, Ecuador, Honduras, El Salvador and the Dominican Republic, becoming a prime promoter of Latin America's active participation in the Climate Change Convention. Christiana served as high level advisor to both governments and private companies. Christiana has a Masters Degree in Anthropology from the London School of Economics, and a certificate in Organizational Development from Georgetown University. She speaks Spanish, English and German.
Christiana Figueres was born in San José, Costa Rica. Her father, José Figueres Ferrer, was President of Costa Rica three times. José Figueres Ferrer was the leader of the 1948 Revolution and is considered the founder of modern democracy in Costa Rica. He abolished the army in 1948 and established a broad system of checks and balances that are at the root of Costa Ricaâs stable development to this day. He was responsible for enabled women and illiterates to vote, nationalised banks, outlawed the Communist Party, guaranteed public education for all, gave citizenship to black immigrants' children, established civil service to eliminate the spoils system in government.
Christianaâs mother, Karen Olsen Beck, served as Costa Rican Ambassador to Israel in 1982 and was elected to the Legislative Assembly for the 1990â1994 period. The couple had four children. Christianaâs older brother José Figueres Olsen, was also President of Costa Rica (1994â1998), and is credited with having initiated the country onto a path of sustainable development which continues to this day.
