Angela Davis is distinguished professor emerita in the History of Consciousness and Feminist Studies departments at the University of California, Santa Cruz. She speaks about feminism, racial inequality, social change, identity and the violence of US culture necessary to perpetuate class and capital's hegemony. She addresses the campaign to eliminate the incarceration industry that promotes repression over restorative justice and speaks of the deinstitutionalization model that has seen success in other areas. She celebrates the peoples campaign and victory that challenged government repression and resulted in her exoneration from trumped up murder charges. Addressing endemic gun violence in the US, she says it is not only time to eliminate guns from the societal norm that they occupy but to remove them from the hands of the police as well.

Zafar Bangash joins the program to offer analysis on crucial developments. At a recent meeting in Doha, consisting of 11 countries, the main interventionists [U.S., France, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, etc...] met and decided to arm the mercenaries with more potent weapons.
We complain about Bush's "New World Order," but where is the order? Every single country they touch is being divided. The West has not abandoned its colonial impulses, and borders are being redrawn once again.
There exists resistance. At the recent anti-war rally in Toronto, we heard for the first time in years a neglected voice from the Syrian community. They want Syria's destiny to be determined by Syrians.
Bangash also comments on the new Iranian president.

In this fine talk, GLEN FORD shows that much of American foreign policy--including military interventions in the Third World--is all about containing China. The US cannot compete with China economically because Wall Street sold off our manufacturing assets to inflate its own profits. To protect corporate profits, the US's only remaining source of power is its huge military--which the government is now wielding globally with blatant disregard of national sovereignty and international law.
Syria vs. the interventionists

Syria's recent military victories against Western-backed mercenaries pose a problem for the country, in that it has enraged the United States and its Gulf State puppets. Samantha Power - who has a PhD in chattering at parties and intervening in other peoples affairs (both figuratively and literally) says we have a "responsibility to protect" Syria, while at the same time her global liberation army dismantles the country.
Why should we respect the monocled newspaper commentary that 'Syria will never be the old Syria?' Yes it will - if we respect international borders. Where did we get the idea that one government can tell another to step down?
Meanwhile, the entire Irish Parliament cowered from Clare Daly's barrage of truth. Someone is going to get spanked for letting her speak. It turns out that the peasants have some leaders.
