Gladys Bentley was a big, bold, butch lesbian blues singer in the 1920's though the 1940's, when there just were no others like her. And this 58-minute show highlights her story and her music. A special feature of this presentation is three unreleased recordings by her, from circa 1939, aired in a medley at the 32:30 mark. The lyrics of the medley are mildly risqué, so you may want to preview to judge if too much so for your audiences or air time. This is the only section of the show that may have any concerns.

Our money system is not what we have been led to believe. The creation of money has been "privatized," or taken over by private money lenders. Thomas Jefferson called them âbold and bankrupt adventurers just pretending to have money.â Except for coins, all of our money is now created as loans advanced by private banking institutions â including the privately-owned Federal Reserve. Banks create the principal but not the interest to service their loans. To find the interest, new loans must continually be taken out, expanding the money supply, inflating prices â and robbing you of the value of your money.

You may have heard of the so-called "Fix the Debt" coalition. What they actually are is
an organization of CEO's of major corporations doing everything they can to make sure no
Federal budget that raises taxes on the rich is ever passed. They have more in common with
Grover Norquist, the US Chamber of Commerce, or the Club for Growth than with any real
grass-roots organization.
They would rather stop sending out Social Security and Medicaid checks than pay more taxes
on the huge salaries and bonuses they earn as the CEO's of corporations such as Wal-Mart.
Yes, Wal-Mart is a board member of "Fix the Debt."
On the 30th of January, hundreds of protesters organized by Our DC stormed Fix the Debt's DC
headquarterss!

Threats to Protected Prairie Grasslands

The Canadian government is divesting from 2.3 million acres of native grasslands in Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba. These community pastures were created in 1935 under the Prairie Farm Rehabilitation Act to restore the land following the Dust Bowl of the Great Depression. In Saskatchewan, the provincial government has said that land will be sold at market value. The Public Service Alliance of Canada is sponsoring the Protect the Prairie campaign to prevent the sell off of these community pastures to private interests.
