In the first half of the show, radio613′s friend and comrade Nomi shares their beautiful Shabbat poem “Rhythm in Flame” set to music, and speaks with Avi about their poem, yeshiva studies, shabbat and training as a sofer. During part two of the show, we kick off a new series of interviews, conversations and analysis about Jewish racism & Jewish anti-racism. The British Jewish communities of the time responded in various ways to the growing threat. London’s working class and immigrant East End was the focal point for both fascist and anti-fascist organizing. In his book, Battle for the East End, and in today’s interview, David Rosenberg details the rise of British fascism, Jewish responses and anti-fascist organizing. Cheryl shares a speech given by Susan Lindauer in Seattle in September of 2011. This was Susan's first US speech, although she has appeared on various radio shows and did a speaking tour of Japan. She tells her story as a CIA asset in Iraq prior to 9/11 and about her arrest and imprisonment under the Patriot Act. She claims that the government knew about 9/11 as early as April of 2001 and she takes the LIHOP position - Let it Happen on Purpose. Cheryl makes comments at various intervals during the speech and points out that the evidence points to a MIHOP - Made it Happen on Purpose - perspective. Susan is the author of the book Extreme Prejudice.
