BSTF 875 - LNI Doc P. Ellis's SUMMER LECTURES Series 2

July 31, 2011, 8:46 a.m.
YES! The seventeen chapters of the monumental HURRICANE SPECTACULAR is at long last over, and "BOB"'s SLACKTIME FUNHOUSE is back on track with a lost show from the Lymph Node Institute! The mighty Dr. P. Ellis, our own Ambrose Bierce, is our featured speaker tonight--from Session 2 of his "Summer Lecture" series, this is a full one-hour dose of Doc's legendary antiConspiracy counterprogramming at its most effective. No one could yank off the Con's mask and hold a halogen light up to reveal its gibbering, stupid ratface like Doc Ellis--this OverMan had a way of driving to the very core of the sheer gist of the fucking nucleus of a goddamned matter, delineating the journey to the center of the most inexplicable psychosocial muddle with unassailable logic and blinding clarity. These attributes are in full play here--a staggering complement of his finest lectures are loaded into the chambers and aimed right into your Yeti Cortex where you need it the most. The good (?) Doctor will shepherd you through the chutes as you absorb and examine the following tracks of thought: *The Truth about the Con's Shell Game *Shielding Yourself Against the Con's Programming *Numbers *Holiday Season Psychosis and the Snares of Psychiatry *X-Day Disappointment/KILL "Bob"! *Media Mold Analysis Trust me--this will help you glide through the upcoming week of shit and toil... perhaps girding your tender Yeti brain for the rest of your existence. **NOTE to the nutjobs, loons, and whackos in the audience: Read what you will into these lectures, but keep in mind that Doc Ellis laid this all this stuff down, exactly as it appears here, in July of 2005. (J'Lawnboy, I'm lookin' at YOU.)**

It's the ReadNex Poetry Squad

July 30, 2011, 8:40 a.m.
Three fifths of the New York-based spoken word hip hop team whipped up one spectacular fundraiser show this summer in Guelph. A long overdue shout out and thanks to them for supporting the "We Are Jose" campaign (wearejose.com) with the talents up their b-boy and b-girl art sleeves! FreeFlowin, Decora, DJ H20 and myself packed into their tour van after the show to talk about all things at the heart of hip hop -- releasing truths through rhythum and words, motivating youth through workshops, towards more women in hip hop, and why there is no hip hop without embracing the most socially disempowered in society with compassion. It’s never too late to check out great music, so please go visit their blog page: http://daybeforesoundtour.blogspot.com for more tales of the ReadNex Poetry Squad.

July 30, 2011, 12:01 a.m.

26- Still Snottier! ******

July 29, 2011, 6:26 p.m.
Easily the most irreverent and trashy two hours of radio you've ever heard, this episode might even be my personal favorite so far! We've crammed 55 snotty classics into the program and mixed it up with a little old school powerpop to make a mix that's both catchy and sinful--how rock 'n' roll was meant to be! There's some newer masters of the dumbed-down sound, like Hunx and His Punx, Personal and the Pizzas, and Brutal Knights, but the real stickers are the classic tracks. That's right, ladies and gents, PROTEX, the Urinals, the Cynics, the Nervous Eaters, the Dicks, (not to mention legends the Saints and Angry Samoans) all are gracin' the mix this week, and you're guaranteed to be tapping your foot and smiling a wry smile before it's through! And they thought television rotted the mind. playlist: http://wrir.org/index.php?/blog/entry/3688/
