Three fifths of the New York-based spoken word hip hop team whipped up one spectacular fundraiser show this summer in Guelph. A long overdue shout out and thanks to them for supporting the "We Are Jose" campaign (wearejose.com) with the talents up their b-boy and b-girl art sleeves!
FreeFlowin, Decora, DJ H20 and myself packed into their tour van after the show to talk about all things at the heart of hip hop -- releasing truths through rhythum and words, motivating youth through workshops, towards more women in hip hop, and why there is no hip hop without embracing the most socially disempowered in society with compassion.

Easily the most irreverent and trashy two hours of radio you've ever heard, this episode might even be my personal favorite so far! We've crammed 55 snotty classics into the program and mixed it up with a little old school powerpop to make a mix that's both catchy and sinful--how rock 'n' roll was meant to be!
There's some newer masters of the dumbed-down sound, like Hunx and His Punx, Personal and the Pizzas, and Brutal Knights, but the real stickers are the classic tracks. That's right, ladies and gents, PROTEX, the Urinals, the Cynics, the Nervous Eaters, the Dicks, (not to mention legends the Saints and Angry Samoans) all are gracin' the mix this week, and you're guaranteed to be tapping your foot and smiling a wry smile before it's through!
