Chapter 3 of the HURRICANE SPECTACULAR:
The horrific anguish continues as George dithers in D.C., preoccupied with his bloody Santeria sacrifices and bizarre doggy rituals with his butt-boy Michael Brown of FEMA. Finally, at long last, public outrage draws him to the bayous to pretend to "inspect" the damage -- but before George and his smarmy boyfriend can escape the toxic pull of the blighted Gulf Coast, Air Force One is hijacked and brought down by radicals. As the plane plows into the swamps of the Hurricane Zone, a deathless line sums up the entire theme of the HURRICANE SPECTACULAR cycle:
"The plane went down... and nothing was ever the same about the way George saw the world, or his place in it..." -- and fucking HOW.
From the creepily evocative opening poetry of "Future Legend" through the Legendary K.O.'s Katrina remix of Kanye West's "Golddigger" to Gary Numan's "Aircrash Bureau," chapter 3 is an anarchic mix of random loose ends sorting themselves into a coherent whole, accreting around a center of hellish possibilities -- with a tasty helping of Jello and "Full Metal Jackoff" for dessert.
From this point on, George's REAL HELL will begin to unreel for us in agonizing detail...

Canadian Foreign Policy and the Creation of Ghetto Palestine

Jon Elmer is a Canadian journalist that has lived in and reported from the West Bank and Gaza since 2003, currently based in Bethlehem. He is a regular contributor to Al Jazeera English and IPS news agency; his work has appeared in Le Monde diplomatique, The Journal of Palestine Studies and The Progressive, among other publications. His work focuses on liberation movements as well as military and foreign policy, with a particular focus on Canada. He lectures regularly throughout Canada and the United States. His talk on March 24th, 2011 in Halifax, Nova Scotia was organized by Canadian, Arabs and Jews for a Just Peace.
