Abeer Alzinaty is a Hip-Hop artist, Writer and storyteller. Born to a Palestinian family inside the Israeli borders Abeer learned to express herself through art. Performing R&B in Arabic and English. Since 2000 Abeer has participated in various initiatives to support Palestinian children. With two other local Arab Guerilla ladies she founded a youth club;âFuture Seekers," in their hometown of Lyd to provide children with a place to play and grow. She has also worked in east Jerusalem in the Israeli women's Lobby, as a mentor to young women.

Early AM HLS protests at DC Big Pharma offices March 11 2010

On the 11th of March, protesters showed up at the DC offices of Novartis, Astra-Zeneca, Sanofi-Aventis, and Bristol-Myers-Squibb. All four are customers of puppy-killing Huntingdon Life Sciences, where undercover investigators caught staffers punching beagle puppies in the face!
At Bristol-Myers Squibb, protesters warned that homes of corporate executives as well as offices face protests for this!

Suffolk County's Cancer Awareness Task Force

Suffolk County is providing a wonderful example of how local government and environmental groups can work together to educate the public concerning cancer prevention that involves reducing exposure to pollutant carcinogens. The residents of Suffolk County have created a very valuable collaborative effort for bringing about the changes that will lead to lower cancer incidence on Long Island. Honor to the people who encountered high cancer rates in their communities and joined together to change this. They are learning about what is causing the high cancer rates and they are educating county residents concerning reducing exposure to cancer causing chemicals and agents in the environment.
