This is a two part show containing music to portray oil intervention, and local issues pertaining to bike transportation and alternative methods of transportation in Santa Cruz and the Broadway Brommer project.Interview with Micah Posner later in first half show. Contains Boycott of the Week, Battle of the Bands. The winner of these were: Santa Cruz Sentinel, and Superior Olive, in respective orders.
A segueway to the second half happens midway aluding to the next topic on chemtrails.The second part of the show at 7, was an interview with Michael Murphy, truthmediaproductions.blogspot.com and three callers, including Mauro of geoengineeringwatch.org. Discussion became a heated debate and liveliness surrounding chemtrails and contrails and the governments' (SAG which is Stratospheric Aerosol Geoengineering)announcement to use radical methods for control of global warming and the resulting effects. Environmentalists and those in the know called in, one last caller at the end of show was also very informative.
International Women's Day Rally and March in Toronto

Over 1000 women and their feminist allies gathered in Toronto to march on International Women's Day (celebrated on Saturday, 6 March 2010). We marched to demand investment in public services, good jobs and pensions for all, and to demand an end to violence and exploitation. Women also marched under the banners of Migrant Women Workers Against Imperialism, the Shelter / Sanctuary / Status Campaign, No One Is Illegal, and Status for All, as pro-Palestinian supporters on the tail end of Toronto's Israeli Apartheid Week, as members of the student movement, the labour movement, and as the unemployed. These audio clips are a few of the highlights (so powerful!) from the rally that took place at 11:00 am at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, as well as a few sounds from the march through downtown Toronto (which took place from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm).

Angela Davis, academic, fugitive and revolutionary

Given that we are now in march and itâs womanâs history month, this final hidden history on the civil rights struggle is devoted to Angela Davis.
Angela Davis is often associated with the Black Panthers and with the black power politics of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Like them, she suffered the interest of J Edgar Hooverâs infamous COINTELPRO program. A communist party member, she was denied tenure because of her political beliefs, and on August 18, 1970, Davis became the third woman to appear on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives List. She spent months on the lam for purchasing a shotgun used in the abduction of Judge Harold Haley who was murdered during a botched effort to free a convict.

Shelter, Sanctuary, Status: Stop the Raids on Women's Shelters!

On 27 February 2010, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) entered a women's shelter in Toronto, looking to track down "Jane," a single mother and survivor of violence in Ghana. "Jane" had been known to stay, with her children, at this particular shelter. Fortunately, she was not present at the time of the raid.
The Shelter, Sanctuary, Status Campaign organized this media conference and emergency community meeting at the Toronto Rape Crisis Centre on International Women's Day to send a clear message to CBSA: Stop the raids on women's shelters! All women should have the right to access shelters, regardless of immigration status.
Approximately 100 people gathered at this emergency community meeting.

Jasmin Hristov is a PhD Candidate in Sociology at York University in Toronto, and author of the book "Blood and Capital: The Paramilitarization of Colombia" (Ohio UP/Between the Lines, 2009). She discusses the major theme of the book (the use of violence in the processes of capital accumulation) as well as the implications (political and economic) of the proposed Canada-Colombia Free Trade Agreement.
