"All Things Cage" is a weekly program featuring conversations between Laura Kuhn, Director of the John Cage Trust, and Cage experts and enthusiasts from around the world. If youd like to propose a guest or a topic for a future program, write directly to Laura at lkuhn@johncage.org.Laura Kuhn presents the first recording of John Cages Europera 5, preceded by her reading Recollections of the Premiere Performance by Yvar Mikhashoff. This recording of Europera 5 was produced by Brian Brandt and released on the Mode Records label as Mode 36 in 1995, with performers Yvar Mikhashoff, Martha Herr, Gary Burgess, Jan Williams, and Don Metz. Europera 5 is the last and most diminutive of Cages operas " preceded by Europeras 1 & 2 (1984-1987) and Europeras 3 & 4 (1991) " and was instigated by pianist Yvar Mikashoffs desire for a small, more practical and portable, and more easily performed work in the series, which had its premiere in Buffalo at the North American New Musical Festival on April 12, 1991.

Jaden Sterling: The Spiritual Money Guy
Feb. 22, 2023, 5:59 p.m.
Joining Kyle in the shop this week is Jaden Sterling, creator of the Sterling Stock Picker and author of The Alchemy of True Success. Listen in as Kyle finds out the reason why Jaden is known as the Spiritual Money Guy, as they discuss the power of intuition and positive mindset. Jaden also discusses how the Sterling Stock picker came about and how it can help investors of all levels before wrapping up with some thoughts on where the markets are heading in 2023.
About Jaden:
Jaden’s point of view is that the large brokerage firms and investment advisors are set up to make their own firms wealthier - NOT the clients. He worked for 2 large investment banking firms in his 20s including holding a leadership position in the Asset Management division of Citigroup in Southern California where he increased sales from 105 million to over 300 million in just over 2 years.
At age 26, Jaden became a top 1% earner in the US due to the financial markets. But in his early retirement he pivoted and went on to develop 125 affordable housing projects over 7 years in South Florida valued in excess of 12.5 million dollars. He has gone on record to share that he learned more about growing his wealth through his wealthy clients than through the firms that held their assets.
Jaden is big on individual stocks, NOT on mutual funds. And he sees so many people struggling to find winning stocks that could ultimately lead to financial freedom. That is why he recently assembled a team to create patent pending software that investors can use to invest like experts without needing to become a CFA or other certified professional in finance.
The software is called Sterling Stock Picker and it takes key indicators and creates their ‘NorthStar Ranking’ for each stock… Recently, their utility patent was filed with the USPTO for their technology. What many of the current users are excited about is the fact that there is the ability to filter stocks that fit their risk tolerance, personal values, interests and much more with over 28 different filters available.
Jeremy Delk: Venture Capitalist and Author of Without a Plan
Feb. 22, 2023, 5:51 p.m.
Jeremy Delk, author of Without a Plan is in the shop this week to talk about his journey into the markets. From his humble beginnings in a small Kentucky town to making (and losing) $2 Million in the stock markets during the dot com bubble while in college, Jeremy has had some incredible experiences... and this was all before becoming the youngest broker at Fidelity! Join us for a fascinating discussion on mindset and the power of positive attitude, along with some incredible stories about successful (and missed) opportunities during his 20+ years in the venture capitalist business.
About Jeremy:
Born and raised in a small town and from a blue-collar household, his parents worked for the post office. However, Jeremy always held much bigger dreams. He longed to experience the world outside his small hometown of Bardstown, Kentucky.
He jumped into entrepreneurial ventures with the naivety of a child and the tenacity of a tycoon. He started the day trading at the age of sixteen, learning and failing with each trade. It is this process of adapting through failures that is paramount to his success in business.
His knowledge and skill as a day trader would help him land a job as one of the youngest brokers at Fidelity trading institutional equities in Boston and later in New York. He was earning great money, but it didn’t fulfill the entrepreneurial spark within him, so he decided to go out on his own.
Delk Enterprises has grown from making $6,000 in its first year in business to a diversified VC fund that has built and exited investments in both private and public transactions. Today, more than 20 years later, Delk Enterprises has holdings in biotech & healthcare, consumer brands, technology, building materials, and real estate development.
Jeremy now focuses on investing in and advising entrepreneurs through speaking. His upcoming book shares his reality of the Good, Bad, and UGLY of entrepreneurship. It serves as a not-so-subtle reminder of fundamental principles he’s learned through his journey: while great times don’t last forever, neither do the truly bad ones.

90 Seconds to Midnight with Dr. Helen Caldicott
Feb. 22, 2023, 1:31 a.m.
This thought provoking conversation took place on January 25, 2023, one day after the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists advanced the hands of the Doomsday Clock to 90 seconds before midnight—in large part due to war in Ukraine.
Dr. Helen Caldicott is an Australian peace activist and environmentalist. She discusses the extreme and imminent threat of a nuclear holocaust due to a proxy war between the U.S. and Russia in Ukraine. She also addresses nuclear fusion and the relationship between the nuclear power industry and nuclear weapons.
Helen Caldicott is the author of many books and was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. She was named by the Smithsonian as one of the most influential women of the 20th century. Her public talks describing the horrors of nuclear war from a medical perspective raised the consciousness of a generation.
Helen Caldicott believes that the awareness of the possible destruction of all life on the planet has receded from public consciousness, making doomsday more likely. The title of her recent book states: we are “sleepwalking to Armageddon.”
My thanks to Steve Taylor and the Global Justice Ecology Project for their permission to re-broadcast this interview with Dr. Helen Caldicott.
