Two organizations that provide legal resources to pro-Palestinian activists who resist efforts to silence them
July 16, 2022, 7:01 p.m.

We focus on the efforts of two organizations that provide legal resources to support the organizing efforts of pro Palestinian activists who resist efforts to silence them: The American Civil Liberties Union and Palestine Legal. In a forum at the Washington Press Club, the Washington Report on Middle East Affairs featured Yousef Munayyer of the Middle East Institute, Brian House from the ACLU Speech, Privacy and Technology Project, and Meera Shah, Senior Staff attorney at Palestine Legal.
Matt Ridley– " Nature or Nurture?"
July 16, 2022, 4:36 a.m.
Genome & Nature via Nurture: Genes, Experience and What Makes Us Human
Are we humans defined by nature or nurture? Matt Ridley, the author of “Genome,” published in 2000, has more recently written “Nature via Nurture: Genes, Experience and What Makes Us Human.” He argues that genes are enablers, rather than constrainers; thus, we are continually shaped by everyday life.
Matt Ridley recommends “Dot Con,” by John Cassidy.

From Nuremberg Germany, listen for Improved Sound Ltd. Also, from our we’ve got an app for that department comedian Lachlan Patterson shares how using one of those new big pizza chain apps takes all the fun our of ordering a pizza. Oh and before we forget, an extra large welcome to our newest sponsor. Listen for a word from new Heinz Relax. The ketchup that gets rid of that embarrassing noise your ketchup bottle can make, and replaces it with ahh something completely different. Welcome to "The Radio Art Hour," a show where art is not just on the radio, but is the radio. "The Radio Art Hour" draws from the Wave Farm Broadcast Radio Art Archive, an online resource that aims to identify, coalesce, and celebrate historical and contemporary international radio artworks made by artists around the world, created specifically for terrestrial AM/FM broadcast, whether it be via commercial, public, community, or independent transmission. Come on a journey with us as radio artists explore broadcast radio space through poetic resuscitations and playful celebrations/subversions of the complex relationship between senders and receivers in this hour of radio about radio as an art form. "The Radio Art Hour" features introductions from Philip Grant and Tom Roe, and from Wave Farm Radio Art Fellows Karen Werner, Andy Stuhl, and Jess Speer. The Conet Project's recordings of numbers radio stations serve as interstitial sounds. Go to wavefarm.org for more information about "The Radio Art Hour" and Wave Farm's Radio Art Archive.
