Welcome to "The Radio Art Hour," a show where art is not just on the radio, but is the radio. "The Radio Art Hour" draws from the Wave Farm Broadcast Radio Art Archive, an online resource that aims to identify, coalesce, and celebrate historical and contemporary international radio artworks made by artists around the world, created specifically for terrestrial AM/FM broadcast, whether it be via commercial, public, community, or independent transmission. Come on a journey with us as radio artists explore broadcast radio space through poetic resuscitations and playful celebrations/subversions of the complex relationship between senders and receivers in this hour of radio about radio as an art form. "The Radio Art Hour" features introductions from Philip Grant and Tom Roe, and from Wave Farm Radio Art Fellows Karen Werner and Jess Speer. The Conet Project's recordings of numbers radio stations serve as interstitial sounds. Go to wavefarm.org for more information about "The Radio Art Hour" and Wave Farm's Radio Art Archive.

"Turn On The News" is the weekly newscast from the fictional Radio Network, with parody radio coverage of the radio and its headlines. Now with computerized news readers, and fewer meddling reporters, plus aggregated reporting, and automated music. Tune in "Turn On The News" each week for the latest news, radio art, and more from our robot reporters, making sure you hear both sides -- good and evil -- every time you "Turn On The News." It is often a mash-up of the week's news, and sometimes a radio news fantasy.

Protecting the Forests of the World - Professor William Moomaw and Stuart Scott
Nov. 2, 2021, 8:16 p.m.
Prof. Moomaw wrote in 2021: Humanity puts out 11 billion tons of carbon each year - amazingly less than half ends up in the atmosphere. NASA satellite data and research show that a bit more than half of the remaining 6 billion tons of carbon are going into forests, plants, wetlands and soils. The other 40 - 45% is being absorbed by the oceans.
However the extraordinary capacity of forests to absorb carbon is being undermined by world-wide logging and clearcutting - which ironically turns forests, that could be our best protection from climate disaster - into yet another powerful source of greenhouse gases.
William Moomaw is Professor Emeritus of International Environmental Policy at Tufts University. Stuart Scott was founder/executive producer of Facing Future TV.
Despite Courts and evidence, mainstream media repeat the same old myths of 1994 Rwanda.
Nov. 2, 2021, 8:01 p.m.
Phil interviews Robin Philpot, author of "Rwanda and the New Scramble for Africa," and publisher of Baraka Books about new evidence about the events of April 1994 in Kigali that were revealed in the latter's interview of Col. Luc Marchal, former commander of Belgium's contingent of the UNAMIR forces posted to Rwanda in 1993.
Colonel Marchal confirmed to Robin that the officers of the Rwandan army behaved in a responsible and professional manner, both before and after the war that began in April 1994. And he cited instances of improper and illegal conduct by the RPF of Paul Kagame. He recalled hearing General Dallaire tell an RPF officer on April 7th that, if the RPF allowed soldiers to advance from their positions, they would be violating the Arusha Peace Agreement. They did advance and also refused to cooperate with a ceasefire. Why does our media ignore such important information?
Why did most Democrats vote to give Israel an EXTRA $1B for its so-called Iron Dome project?
Nov. 2, 2021, 7:34 p.m.
This week we continue our reporting on the machinations that took place within the Democratic Party over the recent vote to send Israel an additional one billion dollars for their military Iron Dome project. The US already sends Israel 3.8 billion dollars a year for weapons that they then must purchase from the United States, a very cozy arrangement. In a Mondoweiss podcast, this decision making process within the Democratic Party is dissected by Jewish Voice for Peaceâs Washington legislative staffer, Beth Miller.
Tim Schwab: Charity and the Billionaire Class
Nov. 2, 2021, 2:40 p.m.
Are billionaire-backed philanthropies making the world a better place or are they pernicious sleeper cells? The answer may be one of those âboth/andâ situations rather than an âeither/or.â This week on Sea Change Radio, we examine philanthropic giving with journalist Tim Schwab who investigates high-profile entities like the Gates Foundation, that are working for positive impact but funded by the billionaire class. We peel back the layers on these types of organizations with a particular eye toward their funding of independent media, and explore the question, âAre foundations vestiges of a colonialist mindset offering scraps from the masterâs table or are actually important vessels for change?â
