Canada's Role in Fueling Anti-China Sentiment
Nov. 19, 2021, 11:39 a.m.
Phil comments on an article by Peter Beinart in the NYT warning of the danger posed by Biden and the Democratic Party in provoking the PRC over Taiwan. For example, Beinart points out that Biden invited a representative of the Taiwanese government to his inauguration.
Beinart warns that the U.S. abandonment of the "One-China Policy" is a recipe for war.
Biden's statement that, on his watch, China would never be allowed to become the largest economy in the world, is clearly a thinly-veiled threat.
Phil refers to CBC's "Marketplace" TV-show which aired a piece on tomato paste imported from China. Marketplace consulted notorious Christian-fundamentalist Adrian Zenz about his now-discredited views that China is involved in genocide of Uyghurs in Xinjiang. Zenz is a right-wing evangelist who is funded by the "Victims of Communism."
Marketplace went so far as to phone local Canadian merchants to ask them if they knew about the origins of the tomato paste. Despite its speculative talk about Chinese government intimidation of people, it is actually CBC Marketplace that has applied veiled threats and pressure to Canadian retailers, by putting them on the spot about Chinese products. Clearly, the CBC is poisoning the airwaves with anti-Chinese propaganda.

The Collapse of America Part 1: What History Teaches us About the Rise and Fall of Empires
Nov. 18, 2021, 2:06 p.m.
This week on the Global Research News Hour, as the US has lost in Afghanistan and is not doing so well on the world stage generally, we examine the weakening aspects of its empire and the growing fade in its power as now China seems to threaten to be the next big state on the world stage, and we examine this global shift through a historical lens. Joining us for the bulk of the hour, the historian and educator from Madison-Wisconsin Al McCoy make his debut on the show to discuss these issues at the centre of his brand new book - To Govern The Globe: World Orders and Catastrophic Change.

Before we forget, the Sonic Café welcomes our newest sponsor. Listen for a word from Leviâs new Woke jeans. Sizeless, style neutral, gender non-conforming denim for a generation that defies labels. Show them youâre woke, wear Leviâs Wokes. All that plus some other neat stuff too, all just ahead, from that little café in the progressive Pacific northwest⦠where we all wear flannel, play the didgeridoo and ahh wear Leviâs Woke jeans. Welcome to "The Radio Art Hour," a show where art is not just on the radio, but is the radio. "The Radio Art Hour" draws from the Wave Farm Broadcast Radio Art Archive, an online resource that aims to identify, coalesce, and celebrate historical and contemporary international radio artworks made by artists around the world, created specifically for terrestrial AM/FM broadcast, whether it be via commercial, public, community, or independent transmission. Come on a journey with us as radio artists explore broadcast radio space through poetic resuscitations and playful celebrations/subversions of the complex relationship between senders and receivers in this hour of radio about radio as an art form. "The Radio Art Hour" features introductions from Philip Grant and Tom Roe, and from Wave Farm Radio Art Fellows Karen Werner, Jess Speer, and Andy Stuhl. The Conet Project's recordings of numbers radio stations serve as interstitial sounds. Go to wavefarm.org for more information about "The Radio Art Hour" and Wave Farm's Radio Art Archive.
