Hanan Ashrawi explains her departure from the PLO; and ...

April 14, 2021, 11:19 a.m.
What is happening with the Palestine Liberation Organization, the PLO? What is its relationship to the Palestinian Authority? What role does it play in Palestinian governance and politics? Palestinian podcaster Salem Barahmey discusses these questions and more with the PLO’s most visible member, Hanan Ashwari on the eve of her leaving the organization. Why is she leaving? Why now? It is a fascinating discussion. Also discussed: The Zionist lobby continues to exert pressure on American Universities to silence Palestinian voices on campus in violation of the First Amendment and principles of Academic Freedom, to their shame. Now, under pressure from Israel advocates, Butler University in Indiana has decided to shut down a lecture with eminent scholar and activist Angela Davis. Isreal is losing the support of young people on the issue of Palestine. That is why there is such an effort to censor Palestinian activism on campus. We would like to think that Butler would be the last to swing and miss on this issue, but don’t bet the ranch on it.

Ramsey Clark's Appeal for Peace STOP the War on Iraq - Let Iraq LIVE!

April 13, 2021, 9:49 p.m.
Former U.S. attorney general and longtime human rights lawyer Ramsey Clark died on April 10, 2021 at the age of 93. He served as attorney general from 1967 to 1969. After leaving office, Clark became a leading critic of U.S. foreign policy. “The world is the most dangerous place it’s ever been because of what our country has done, and is doing” he said. I recorded him in San Francisco on October 12, 2002 - He said that when George Bush declared his war on terrorism he made the most lawless step in the history of the United States. Ramsey Clark warned of another war on Iraq - both for the poor and tortured people of that country and for us, for our own safety and for our souls. In spite of huge peace demonstrations across the world - war began on March 19, 2003.
Few people knew Iraq as well as Ramsey Clark. While the bombs fell on Iraq in 1991 he traveled 2000 miles by car. He returned to Iraq every year to see the effect of the sanctions and weekly US/UK bombings. He visited hospitals and devastated neighborhoods.

April 13, 2021, 2:26 p.m.
While the RWDSU challenges Amazons roadblocks to its unionization drive at Amazons Bessemer Alabama warehouse we cant help but think how different the outcome would be if the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act was the law! with Pro-Union Workers, Bessemer Alabama Amazon Warehouse with Brandon Magner, labor lawyer and who writes about unions and the law at Substack, Labor Law Lite While Amazon has left no stone unturned in its efforts to gaslight its own employees. We wont let Amazons lies, deception and illegal activities go unchallenged, which is why we are formally filing charges against all of the egregious and blatantly illegal actions taken by Amazon during the union vote. Amazon knew full well that unless they did everything they possibly could, even illegal activity, their workers would have continued supporting the union. RWDSU Pres. Stuart Appelbaum But, if the PRO Act was already law, Amazon wouldn't have been able to resort to its dirty anti-union tricks!

It's a meditation on class warfare, the ruling elite's dislike of democracy, American exceptionalism, economic inequality, mind control, and the prescience of George Orwell. Voices heard belong to Howard Zinn, Michael Parenti, Noam Chomsky, historian Morris Berman, and Ken Nordine (himself a master of audio collage), among others. Includes dramatic readings from Orwell's "1984" & some good music.

Witnesses in Rusesabagina case range from Kidnapper to Paid Informant

April 9, 2021, 5:18 p.m.
Phil once again focuses on the kidnapping, arrest, and trial of Paul Rusesabagina in Kigali, Rwanda. Paul has removed himself from the trial because he was illegally rendered to Rwanda and is actually a Belgian citizen. In addition, he has been denied access to his lawyers and suffered having his personal papers read by the prosecution. One of the witnesses for the prosecution of Rusesabagina was a teacher in California. She is a registered agent of the government of Rwanda, paid $5,000 a month to seek out information about opponents of the Kagame regime. In other words, she is a police information and an agent provocateur who sought out many Rwandan expatriates with the purpose of linking them to illegal activities. A new book, "Do Not Disturb," has been written by Michaela Wrong about Paul Kagame, the present dictator of Rwanda. The book documents the assassinations by Kagame's RPF of two African Presidents, which started the killings in Rwanda in 1994.
