Biden will continue U.S. drive for dominance

Jan. 19, 2021, 7:36 p.m.
Stephen Gowans argues that Trump upset the U.S. ruling-class because he used the means that the U.S. traditionally employs against targeted countries (undermining the validity of elections, storming legislatures) but against the United States itself. For example, Nancy Pelosi called the Hong Kong rioters' torching of the HK legislature a "beautiful thing." Gowans doubts Biden's presidency will bring many changes in U.S. foreign policy. Instead, the continuities of foreign policy will persist to ensure the economic privileges of the U.S. ruling-class. A recently declassified U.S. document reveals their strategy to use India to contain China, and to move low-wage production for U.S. corporations from China to India and Mexico.

They also discuss the huge and mounting Covid related debt of ordinary people and the need for writing it down. Michael Hudson elaborates on the difference in the amounts of money in the Covid stimulus plan - with about $8 trillion going to the one percent and $2 trillion to the rest of us. The full 49 minute conversation is free on the website of theAnalysis.news - and there is also a transcript.

Herman's Radio & Record Room #13

Jan. 17, 2021, 1:20 p.m.
My dad Herman Frederick Moe was a radio engineer & TV repairman, a country & western "cowboy singer" and rustic guitar player. He performed in the late 1930’s on live radio before he enlisted in World War II as a radio-telephone technician. This show is my homage to him. My father loved the other side of radio as well – the listening side – it kept him company during many lonesome nights in the 30’s, 40’s, 50’s & 60's. From my imagination to your ears – it’s WHFM – vintage music from mid century America. This is music that I believe he would have enjoyed.
