Tulsi turns the tables on Hillary and the warhawks

Oct. 25, 2019, 8:41 p.m.
Phil Taylor and Phil Conlon discuss Tulsi Gabbard's response to Clinton's accusations that she was planted by a Russia/Trump conspiracy. There are reasons why it is productive for anti-war activists to support Tulsi. In fact, 'progressives' should not be dismissive of people in the military. They also talk about the importance of Bernie Sanders' 2016 campaign. Both Sanders and Tulsi are helping advance the struggle for health-care and dismantling the empire, even if they are individually incapable of enacting their agenda.

An important and highly listenable exploration of the meaning of "terrorism" and the many aspects of life affected by terrorist behavior. The exploration reveals remarkable similarities in the acts and goals of Al Qaeda, The US government, the Fortune 500, and others. The backbone of the program is a brilliant talk professor John McMurtry gave just after 9/11 (2001). Interspersed with this are excerpts from talks by several other speakers that complement or illustrate McMurtry's points. (Cont'd)

On this week’s Global Research News Hour, following two weeks of extensive violence orchestrated by Turkey on the region bordering it to the south, we turn our attention to Syria, and the ongoing campaign of regime change by Western nations, including Canada. In our first half hour, political commentator and Middle East expert Laith Marouf provides some historical context to the Turkish military campaign against the Kurds and the agreement brokered recently to resolve that situation. We next hear from a member of the Syrian diaspora in Canada, Majd Zooda about the removal of Waseem Ramli from a high profile Syrian representative post and what it means for Syrian and non-Syrian Canadians. Finally, we re-air part of an interview by Chris Cook of CFUV’s Gorilla-Radio with Journalist Vanessa Beeley about her August article on Canadian human rights lawyer Irwin Cotler and his championing of the White Helmets.

In this month’s episode we speak to Gabriel Zucman about his new book with co-author Emmanuel Saez – The Triumph of Injustice: How the Rich Dodge Taxes and How to Make Them Pay. Plus, as Extinction Rebellion holds protests around the world over the climate emergency, we point the finger at the surprisingly small number of companies which determine whether investment will go into a better future, or onto a continued path of destruction. Israel: A Beachhead in the Middle East

Oct. 24, 2019, 8:02 a.m.
Stephen Gowans describes how Israel was first created as an extension of 19th century European colonialism and functions today as a means of power projection for the United States. The U.S. seeks to dominate the Arab world, and Israel has demonstrated its value in weakening Arab forces that seek self-determination. Gowans traces the history, from the early marriage between the racist and pessimistic ideas shared by Zionists and European imperialists alike, to the U.S. desire today to keep the Arab nation divided and off-balance. Donald Drumpf Theatre Vol. 145 Quid Pro Quo

Oct. 23, 2019, 8:54 p.m.
An original radio theatre show each week, with most sounds culled from the previous week, about a fictional, theatrical presidency. Contradictions tell the story, with songs, skits, and clips from political news shows and late-night comedy routines. The definition of "radio theatre" is stretched here, with an updated Dickie Goodman and/or Richard Foreman-meets-mashup style sometimes, and a more straightforward take other weeks. Currently airing on 30 or 40 stations around the world, the network has ordered another 15 episodes, but there are threats of cancellation. Anyone who would like to work on a production, or have their work air in this timeslot, should contact info@wgxc.org.
