#613 -- More Gore

Dec. 1, 2019, 10:14 p.m.
The late activist-essayist-novelist-historian Gore Vidal reads "An Open Letter To the Next President." I hope Elizabeth and Bernie are listening, for Vidal's "letter" is as timely now as it was when he spoke--shortly before the election of 2000. Vidal urges dismantling the out-of-control Pentagon and the National Security State, and he denounces Congress for serving the corporations rather than the citizens. Plus: a clip from the movie "Bob Roberts" and music by Bruce Cockburn.

Episode 2019.05.01. Occupy Wall Street, A Resurrected Future from Eight Years Ago

Dec. 1, 2019, 7:58 p.m.
This fact may be important to some of the content. I recorded this podcast during the waning days of Summer, nonetheless it’s a very full episode. I discuss the strategic connection between BLM and OWS, I ask some questions about the Clinton’s relationship to the Elite and rant for while about the media’s coverage of black men shot by the cops. Though I don’t consider this one of my strongest episodes ever recorded I ultimately released it to you because the information broached, the questions launched, need to be broached and launched. Yes it is dated a bit, but the overall sound is nice and inviting. So enjoy! If you have any questions, comments or concerns please contact me at vphiamer.adis.ogaarwa@outlook.com

Episode 2019.05. History in a Bottle, Occupy Wall Street's Legacy, A Precursor to Donald Trump

Dec. 1, 2019, 7:31 p.m.
The year was 2011, a movement, ignored by the mainstream media was taking Social Media by storm. This movement, which began during early Autumn, had the good fortune of catching fire while the Republican party was going through the motions of selecting a challenger to sitting president Barak Obama. At the time, it presented some stark challenges to the political winds beginning to blow lukewarm phrases into American’s eardrums, causing those winds to whip up – changing directions as if some great coastal storm was invading the Ohio Valley in defiance of natural currents. Suddenly, rather sitting or hoping to sit, presidents and presidential hopefuls, had to answer the charges lobed by the movement. Mitt Romney, ruthless Capitalist Vulture he was, even adopted language from the rapidly transpiring movement – while Barak Obama, stammered through explanations as to why the movement had sprung up. This podcast episode, is the first of (at least) two, where I pay tribute to this very powerful movement, a movement we need to see resurrected again. You’ll be treated to great clips from John Stewart’s Daily Show, Democracy Now, Moyers & Company and Keith Olbermann. Enjoy! If you have any questions, comments or concerns please contact me at vphiamer.adis.ogaarwa@outlook.com
