#536 -- Jean Shepherd: Elephant Feet
June 8, 2018, 7:47 a.m.
All new episode!--most of which is 56 years old. The third in our series of classic monologues by the great radio humorist / satirist / storyteller Jean Shepherd.
Shepherd pokes fun at American life--including our crazy junk, our unrealistic "realistic" TV shows; our love of doing things just to see if they can be done; the rationalizations we concoct to justify space flights and war; and our favorite rhetorical question, "Who's covering up?"
Condensed by--and with a brief introduction by--KD.

Out of the Woods - Show #427 - 6-15-18
June 7, 2018, 6:18 p.m.
This version of the program is divided into 6 segments so broadcasters who desire to use this content can insert your station info, etc. The segments vary in length.
Out of the Woods is an earthy, wires and wood, mostly acoustic program featuring some of the best new and established artists from the worlds of folk, bluegrass, singer-songwriters, alt.country, Americana, classic country, old-time, Celtic, and everything that falls in between. The show is an unpredictable mix flowing like a river between moods, often with an edge or in a melancholy minor key. On occasion, Out of the Woods features interviews and live in-studio performances with national and international touring musicians. Past guests have included artists such as Bela Fleck, Si Kahn, Brown Bird, Dana Robinson, Steve Gillette & Cindy Mangsen, Kate MacLeod, Bill Bourne, Karl Shiflett, Rachel Bissex, Darryl Purpose, Bow Thayer, Cosy Sheridan and many others. Out of the Woods grew out of Jon 'Chip' Colcord's former acoustic programs, The Song Swap and Music For The Mountain, separate folk and bluegrass programs which aired in New Hampshire during the 1990s. As a child, Colcord grew up a ravenous music fan with an ear for both rock and folk. All of these influences converge on Out of the Woods to bring you a mix which is as much on the edge as it is down home. Folk music with a rock 'n' roll soul

Sonic Cafe #90/Random Things Happen
June 7, 2018, 9:11 a.m.
Itâs the Sonic Café. Welcome to episode 90. Iâm Scott Clark. Cloud based computing offers many things, including massive jukeboxes in the sky brought to us by music streaming services like Spotify and Pandora. Places where powerful algorithms work 24/7 to anticipate your every need and serve up the ideal song for any occasion. Not to be outdone⦠the Sonic Café has developed an algorithm of our own. We call it the Totally Random Improbability Drive⦠and weâre turning it loose for this episode. Though, not quite as sophisticated as those all knowing algorithms in the sky, still does a pretty darn good job. All this time as we demonstrate the power of the Sonic Caféâs very own Totally Random Improbability Drive, thatâs not in a cloud somewhere, but right here at that little café on the coast, weâre the Sonic Café.
