TB 171124 Lights in the Darkness 2X
Nov. 23, 2017, 5:38 p.m.
In this weekâs archive radio show we warn the Republican Party that one disadvantage to their having assumed power is that now they are subject to being Thunderbolted much more often than they have been lately.
Next, we air a public service announcement to help the ladies protect themselves from twisted perverts at White House events (such as our new president, for instance).
Then we slap a knee over the Media Machineâs attempts to normalize the insanity of a Trump administration.
After that we attempt to answer the Toothless Old Grandpaâs question about WTF just happened.
We then not only revive the Irony of the Week feature but we reveal what is possibly the most perfect irony in all human history!
Next, the Thunderbolt makes a series of personal commitments to you, our listeners,
Finally, we end the News and Commentary section of the program with the feature piece about how there are lights in the darkness and that we may be able to gather those scattered lights into glaring spotlight thus illuminating the path to a better way so we can finally move on to the next phase in our evolution!
(Donât laugh! The Toothless Old Grandpa almost cried when he heard about it!)
The Thunderbolt saves the world â at no extra cost!
Out of the Woods - Show #399 - 12-2-17
Nov. 23, 2017, 5:35 p.m.
This version of the program is divided into 6 segments so broadcasters who desire to use this content can insert your station info, etc. The segments vary in length.
Out of the Woods is an earthy, wires and wood, mostly acoustic program featuring some of the best new and established artists from the worlds of folk, bluegrass, singer-songwriters, alt.country, Americana, classic country, old-time, Celtic, and everything that falls in between. The show is an unpredictable mix flowing like a river between moods, often with an edge or in a melancholy minor key. On occasion, Out of the Woods features interviews and live in-studio performances with national and international touring musicians. Past guests have included artists such as Bela Fleck, Si Kahn, Brown Bird, Dana Robinson, Steve Gillette & Cindy Mangsen, Kate MacLeod, Bill Bourne, Karl Shiflett, Rachel Bissex, Darryl Purpose, Bow Thayer, Cosy Sheridan and many others. Out of the Woods grew out of Jon 'Chip' Colcord's former acoustic programs, The Song Swap and Music For The Mountain, separate folk and bluegrass programs which aired in New Hampshire during the 1990s. As a child, Colcord grew up a ravenous music fan with an ear for both rock and folk. All of these influences converge on Out of the Woods to bring you a mix which is as much on the edge as it is down home. Folk music with a rock 'n' roll soul

Jim Douglass on Who Killed Kennedy and Why
Nov. 22, 2017, 12:24 p.m.
This replaying of my 2013 interview with Jim Douglass is important because the mainstream media and the alternative media, operating under the insidious influence of the chief gatekeeper, Noam Chomsky, refuses to speak with knowledgeable critics of the Kennedy assassination official narrative.
Douglass points out how JFK killing has shaped events thru 9-11; how refusing US military support for the Bay of Pigs fiasco. ending the Cuban missile crisis thru secret communications with Nikita Khrushchev, which averted an almost certain nuclear war, his Vietnam withdrawal plan, and outreach to Castro, got him killed.
He describes how the CIA had plotted an earlier and similar hit in Chicago three weeks earlier but JFK canceled the trip; the perfidious role of the Secret Service and its having provided phony IDs for shooters on the grassy knoll; the use of multiple Oswalds in Mexico and the US before and after assassination; of RFK Jr.âs speaking out against war machine that killed RFK and how a new âProject Unspeakableâ available for public readings links the murders of JFK, Malcolm X, MLK and RFK.
Jeff Blankfort: News/Op: JFK, Chomsky, Israel-CIA Link
Nov. 22, 2017, 11:27 a.m.
My entire commentary is devoted to the 54th anniversary of Kennedy's assassination as an introduction to replaying my interview with Jim Douglass, author of âJFK and the Unspeakable: Why He Died and Why it Matters,â the very best book that exposes and documents the role of the CIA in coordinating the murder of the president and makes it clear that Lee Harvey Oswald was acting as its agent but was not the assassin.
I note how the alternative along with the mainstream media has collaborated in refusing to interview critics of the official story despite the polls showing that the majority of Americans believe the killing was a conspiracy.
I cite Noam Chomsky contradictory statement disputing the possibility that the assassination was a conspiracy while acknowledging he hasn't studied it because he doesn't think it was important. I point out that Chomsky holds the same position regarding 911 and dismisses the notion that the Israel Lobby controls Congress.
I point out that when JFK turned away from Cold War warrior to saving the planet through his secret back channel communications with Khrushchev and decided to withdraw troops from Vietnam, he was considered a traitor and made many enemies but before that he had angered Israel's David Ben-Gurion who saw him as a danger to Israel because he demanded Israel not develop nuclear weapons, that at least 300,000 Palestinians be allowed to return, and that Israel's US lobby register as a foreign agent. No US president would ever make such demands again.
While noting that it would have been logistically impossible for the Mossad to have carried out the killing, I note the close relationship between the fervently anticommunist and fervently Zionist head of CIA's counterintelligence at the time, James Jesus Angleton and Jerusalem mayor and Mossad agent, Teddy Kolleck as recorded by their obvious friend and notorious neocon, Michael Ledeen.
I conclude with comments from Ray McGovern, endorsing Douglass's book and agreeing that the CIA was behind the killing.

The Radical Right Stealth Agenda: What is it and What We Can Do About it
Nov. 22, 2017, 9 a.m.
From event program:
[The] speaker for this event is award winning author and historian Nancy MacLean. Her topic, The Radical Right Stealth Agenda: What is it and What We Can Do About it, is compellingly central to our mission. MacLeanâs new book "Democracy in Chains" is an explosive exposé of the rightâs relentless campaign to eliminate unions, suppress voting, privatize Medicare, Social Security and public education, eliminate environmental and financial regulations and change the Constitution. It is perhaps the best explanation to date of the roots of the political divide that now threatens to irrevocably alter American government.
In a brilliant and engrossing narrative, Nancy MacLean explains how a political economist, James McGill Buchanan, wrote the script 6 decades ago for the Koch brothers and others to follow to in a diabolical plan to subvert the will of the democratic majority and tilt the playing field forever in favor of the rich and powerful. As we struggle to grow the movement for social justice. .... learn what actions we can take to stop this radical right agenda and why the Guardian calls this book "The missing chapter: a key to understanding the politics of the past half century.â

'Peace Bloc' vs. 'War Bloc' emerging in Middle East
Nov. 21, 2017, 9:30 p.m.
Even though the ISIS "caliphate" has been defeated in Iraq and Eastern Syria, Beeley points out that the war in Syria is not yet over. There are still pockets of terrorists in several places inside Syria, including a concentration of Al Qaeda inside Idlib province and ISIS along the Israeli border adjacent to the Golan Heights, occupied illegally by Israel in 1967.
Most important, she points out there has been a reshaping of the power structure in the Middle East into a 'peace bloc' and a 'war bloc.' The 'war bloc' includes the U.S., Israel, and Saudi Arabia. The growing 'peace bloc' includes Russia, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Qatar, Turkey, and Syria.
