Globe and Mail supports NATO efforts to silence Global Research
Nov. 20, 2017, 6:41 p.m.
Phil Taylor criticizes the Globe and Mail for publishing a NATO-inspired hit-piece against the alternative media site, Global Research. It was full of the usual scaremongering about 'conspiracy theory' and 'Russian influence.'
The function of a Canadian newspaper should have been to defend Canadian journalism, and lobby our government to instruct NATO not to interfere in Canadian journalism. Instead, the Globe teams up with a military organization to criticize a valuable aggregator of counter-hegemonic voices.
Meanwhile, the Globe and Mail is more than happy to promote "conspiracy theories" of their own, such as today's Page One coverage of Zimbabwe! Conspiracy theories are allowed for some, but not for others.

Tell them we lived in a world face with many challenges and also amazing opportunities to create a new path grounded in local focus, fierce intelligence and deep connection with one another.
Tell them the path is made by walking, by engaging with open hearted-ness and wide-awakeness that provide for a meaningful and radical engagement with the world.
#507 -- George Carlin on American B.S. (R)
Nov. 19, 2017, 3:04 p.m.
In his last years, socially-engaged comedian George Carlin seemed less angry, more resigned, and shrewd as ever as he observed American politics and culture rushing to hell in a handbasket. Our show presents some of Carlin's last performances and parts of an interview--plus a Carlin-like song by David Rovics.
The theme is B.S., America, and why the two make an especially bad combination.

Episode 2017.13 - The (Sort of) Anti-Intellectual Show, Redefining Meaningless Labels
Nov. 19, 2017, 3:14 a.m.
Some familiar points are touched on here, but the overall premise behind this show is philosophies be damned, we need a realistic description concerning the labels we use to describe ourselves and the vision for the country. What exactly makes a Libertarian any different than a NeoConservative, or a Progressive any different than a Liberal or a Socialist any different from the way most people think we all should live? The answers to all these questions can be best summed up in one word, ânuancesâ, do Libertarian principles as described in books accurately detail the lives created when they are applied, do Conservatives, do Liberals (no, no and Iâm not quite sure). The entire way we view such a question must be rethought to encourage an actual vision or as I somewhat impress upon the listener âactuate a solutionâ. This entire show is a great testament to why sleep before recording is a powerful pallet cleanser, also I take about 5 minutes to explain what the new CWB will consist of (or not) and why its taken me this long to redesign the show.
Another American flip-flop on Cuba
Nov. 18, 2017, 10:52 p.m.
Fidelâs last observations that the US is an untrustworthy interlocutor has again been shown true as Trump reverses the Obama plan for a new start with Cuba. This new tack is calculated to harm the Cuban economy and create new tensions. And the new tensions are already coming in the form of unproven claims that there are mysterious âsonic boomsâ harming American diplomats in Havana and therefore they must leave. And so it goes with the neurotic empire.

PR Crisis, Luis Rosa Perez, former political prisoner & Prof. Rafael Bernabe
Nov. 18, 2017, 6:18 p.m.
The Storms have ripped the clothes off colonialism's devastation of Puerto Rico says Luis Rosa Perez!
featuring
Luis Rosa Perez, is a former U..S. held Puerto Rican political prisoner of war. He served almost 20 years in U.S. prisons for fighting to free Puerto Rico from the colonial relationship its had with the U.S. since 1898. In 1999 he and a group of Puerto Rican prisoners of war were given clemency by President Clinton. Luis Rosa Perez's commitment to his people is described as "Sacrifice without hesitation".
and
Rafael Bernabe is a researcher and professor at the University of Puerto Rico. He is the author, with Csar Ayala, of Puerto Rico in the American Century:A History Since 1898 (2007).
Hurricane Irma and Maria's passing and aftermath have once again brought to light Puerto Ricos primordial conundrum: colonialism. Together they have left The Island in shambles. Luis Rosa Perez and Rafael Bernabe, two of the Islands most prominent social change agents survey the damage on the ground wrought by the storms, whose devastating path through the Island was paved by Puerto Ricos status as a US colony. Luis and Rafael take stock of The Islands needs and urge us to build support for the Puerto Rican communities Unity March for Puerto Rico, Sunday, November 19, in D.C., " One People " One Voice " against unjust laws that have been systematically oppressive and exploited the people and resources of Puerto Rico and prevented its socio-economic growth and the sustainability of The Island.
Luis and Rafael discuss the peoples reconstruction efforts on the ground and their organizing for self-determination, while they encourage us to create forceful, sustained political pressure on our leaders until they act for Puerto Rico " for a commitment to sustain rebuilding efforts; for transparency and accountability in the delivery of aid; and for the elimination of the Jones Act and the cancellation of Puerto Ricos debt which is crippling The Islands recovery.
The International Courts
Nov. 18, 2017, 6:05 p.m.
Former ICC prosecutor Moreno is now rightly seen as corrupt and a political operator. The case against Gbagbo is a shambles, the former President was a victim of the reckless regime change mania directed from Washington and Paris. Burundi made the right decision to leave the ICC, other African countries may soon follow.
