Part 2 Rev Barber on Creating a Fusion Movement to Defeat Trump and Move Forward Together
Oct. 20, 2017, 8:16 a.m.
We present part 2 in our interview with the Rev William Barber On Creating a Fusion Movement to Defeat Trump and Move Forward Together
with
The Rev. Dr. William Barber is Pastor of Greenleaf Christian Church, in Goldsboro, North Carolina and architect of the Forward Together Moral Movement that gained national acclaim with its Moral Monday protests which drew tens of thousands of North Carolinians and other moral witnesses to the state legislature. He has served as president of the North
Carolina NAACP, the largest state chapter in the South. His two most recent books include Forward Together (Chalice Press) and The Third Reconstruction (Beacon Press).
And, Dr. William Barber is the founder and president of Repairers of the Breach, an organization that seeks to build a progressive agenda rooted in a moral framework to counter the ultra-conservative constructs that try to dominate the public square. Rev. Barber one of the most influential, progressive religious figures in the country.
Tens of thousands of men and women rose up in Chicago and cities from coast to coast to demanding that everyone in America have the right to organize and join a union and the Rev. William Barber said Im proud to stand with them, because their fight is central to the battle against poverty, racism, and inequality.
Earlier this year Rev. Barber announced an effort by faith and moral leaders to carry forward Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.s dream of a Poor Peoples Campaign, working across twenty-five states to alleviate the triad forces of poverty, militarism, and racism that Dr. King knew were poisoning our country then and still threaten us today.

Out of the Woods - Show #394 - 10-28-17
Oct. 19, 2017, 7:20 p.m.
This version of the program is divided into 6 segments so broadcasters who desire to use this content can insert your station info, etc. The segments vary in length.
Out of the Woods is an earthy, wires and wood, mostly acoustic program featuring some of the best new and established artists from the worlds of folk, bluegrass, singer-songwriters, alt.country, Americana, classic country, old-time, Celtic, and everything that falls in between. The show is an unpredictable mix flowing like a river between moods, often with an edge or in a melancholy minor key. On occasion, Out of the Woods features interviews and live in-studio performances with national and international touring musicians. Past guests have included artists such as Bela Fleck, Si Kahn, Brown Bird, Dana Robinson, Steve Gillette & Cindy Mangsen, Kate MacLeod, Bill Bourne, Karl Shiflett, Rachel Bissex, Darryl Purpose, Bow Thayer, Cosy Sheridan and many others. Out of the Woods grew out of Jon 'Chip' Colcord's former acoustic programs, The Song Swap and Music For The Mountain, separate folk and bluegrass programs which aired in New Hampshire during the 1990s. As a child, Colcord grew up a ravenous music fan with an ear for both rock and folk. All of these influences converge on Out of the Woods to bring you a mix which is as much on the edge as it is down home. Folk music with a rock 'n' roll soul

a conversation with Israeli journalist Gideon Levy
Oct. 18, 2017, 11:02 a.m.
This week we feature a conversation with Israeli journalist, Gideon Levy, who writes for the Israeli newspaper Haaretz. Levy met with a visiting delegation from the United States in Israel sponsored by the Tree of Life Foundation. Gideon Levy pulls no punches when he speaks and writes. We were fortunate to receive this conversation from a member of the delegation who recorded it exclusively for This Week In Palestine.
Like many of our other guests, but unlike the Israeli mainstream, Levy advocates for the so-called one-state solution with equal rights for all. He explains its persuasive logic, and the cold reactions he gets from colleagues who prefer the brutal status quo.
Donald Drumpf Theatre Vol. 40
Oct. 18, 2017, 10:13 a.m.
Donald Drumpf Theatre: Vol. 40 Trek to Stupidity. An original radio theatre show each week, with most sounds culled from the previous week, about a fictional, theatrical presidency. Contradictions tell the story, with songs, skits, and clips from political news shows and late-night comedy routines. The definition of "radio theatre" is stretched here, with an updated Dickie Goodman and/or Richard Foreman-meets-mashup style sometimes, and a more straightforward take other weeks. Currently, the network has ordered another 15 episodes, but there are threats of cancellation. Anyone who would like to contribute to the show, should contact info@wgxc.org.
