He notes that US has 13 wars going on and she wants to expand it, noting report that defense contractors are pouring money into her campaign. He recalls Clinton's willingness to nuclear bunker busting bombs on Iran while people are concerned about Trump's finger on the button. He points out that Trump downfall was his statement about being “even-handed” on the Israel-Palestine question and Middle East which is not permissible for any US politician. The Dublin Interview with Professor Kevin Anderson (ONE of TWO)

Aug. 23, 2016, 9:57 p.m.
At the Paris Climate Talks in 2015 195 countries made pledges how to keep global warming under 2 degrees Celsius - or even better 1.5 degrees. However there is very little information as to how or if at all - these pledges are being honored. Kevin Anderson is Professor of Energy and Climate Change at the University of Manchester, and Deputy Director of the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research. In March 2016 he came for a whirl wind speaking tour of Ireland and sat down for an interview in Dublin with John Gibbons from the National Trust for Ireland. Gibbons calls Anderson one of the world’s best known and most influential – and outspoken – climate specialists. Here is the first part of his one hour no holds barred exceedingly well researched analysis, ranging from CO2 emissions in agriculture, his opinion on the million dollar question: is a 2 degree Celsius temperature rise unavoidable - and what if we were to go to 4 degrees? Anderson also unpacks the false promise of green growth.

Cod Willing: David Abel on the Cod's Resurgence

Aug. 23, 2016, 5:48 p.m.
Since 1992, fish ’n chips fans may have noticed that there was no cod in their classic fried dish. That’s the year that the Canadian government issued a moratorium on fishing the popular, tasty species. It devastated the Newfoundland region’s economy, but it had to be done. The cod population had dwindled to nearly nothing at that time due to over-fishing and changing water temperatures. Our guest today on Sea Change Radio is Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist David Abel, who recently wrote a piece for the Boston Globe about how the cod has actually rebounded in recent times. We talk about the region's historical relationship with cod, how science-informed policy can help reverse human-generated ecological damage, and Abel's upcoming film on the subject, Sacred Cod.

Palestinian youth's rebellion against the Occupation, and BDS and Olympics issues

Aug. 22, 2016, 6:47 p.m.
Our feature presentation today is an interview of journalist/author Max Blumenthal by radio journalist Abby Martin. The subject is his "take" on the current rebellion by Palestine's youth against the Israeli occupation, Israeli bullying, and Israeli fascism. Blumenthal is quite clear that this rebellion is not an intifada, so-called. He explains why, and discusses the rebellion's genesis and unique nature. Before this, we shine some light on the American BDS campaign, its origins going back to the American Revolution and the Bill of Rights, and the Zionists' increasingly desperate battles to prohibit BDS, or at least impede it by blacklisting its adherents. Israel knows that it is increasingly being seen, correctly, as a pariah state throughout the world and is desperately fighting back. Its current gambit: a campaign to muzzle its critics. Finally, in the context of this year's Olympic Games, we focus on the heroic efforts of Palestinian swimmer Mary al Atrash, and the cruelty of Israel's apartheid and its checkpoints which made her access to an Olympic-size pool, clearly preferable for Olympic training, almost impossible.
