As stated before, the crux of importance isn’t economics, but rather the valuations of things inside this society and the decline of the U.S (to a point). The episode is really all over the place, so buckle up. Oh a quick note for those broadcasting the episode on the radio, I do bring up pornography briefly in the beginning of this segment, nothing too raunchy, but it is brought up. The topic here is one I have been passionate about for quite a long time; that being the missing “political” portion in the Capitalist concept of Political Economy. Marx accurately explains the economy portion but the political remains relatively undefined to this date, Music Used in the opening, Curtis Mayfield’s Think, Brandy’s The Definition and Marvin Gaye’s Inner City Blues If you have any questions, comments or concerns please contact me at vphiamer.adis.ogaarwa@outlook.com Follow me on Facebook @ClassWarBattlefieldPodcast, on Twitter @VphiamerAdisOgaarwa

A family story that shows what was lost when Kagame savagely seized power in Rwanda

Sept. 16, 2023, 2:25 a.m.
A family story that shows what was lost when Kagame savagely seized power in Rwanda. The book is, "After All Was Lost," at barakabooks.com. It tells the stories of a distinguished Rwandan family, marked with diligence and good character, led by a father who served as a diplomat and army leader until his tragic death April 6th, 1994. The assassination of General Nsabimana, alongside the Presidents of Rwanda and Burundi, was a tragedy also for the nation and for the entire Great Lakes region of Africa. How the family survived and maintained the spirit of the martyred General is a necessary text for anyone seeking to the truth about 1994 Rwanda and justice for the people of that nation.

How getting a big subscriber base has sometimes obscured us from seeing the bigger picture as far as social change. How party loyalty and ideology has got in the way of real authenticity. How having principles sometimes requires us to pay a price among our peers. Europera 5 is the last and most diminutive of Cages operas " preceded by Europeras 1 & 2 (1984-1987) and Europeras 3 & 4 (1991) " and was instigated by pianist Yvar Mikashoffs desire for a small, more practical and portable, and more easily performed work in the series, which had its premiere in Buffalo at the North American New Musical Festival on April 12, 1991.

The Environmental Impacts of Large Dams and Reservoirs with Patrick McCully updated Archive

Sept. 13, 2023, 3:12 a.m.
This is the second part of a program on the epic struggle over dams, displaced people and the environment, that I recorded for TUC Radio in 2006. Patrick McCully was then the executive director of the International Rivers Network. They are supporting communities around the world that are impacted by destructive dams. On their 2023 website International Rivers Network dot org list 217 dam projects around the world that they have helped delay or stop. Globally the building of mega dam-projects is slowing down but the world is left with dams and reservoirs that are decaying and becoming a danger to people downstream. Just this morning, as I’m preparing this program for distribution, terrible news is coming in from Libya: The subtropical cyclone "Daniel" hit eastern Libya yesterday and floods from heavy rains overtopped the reservoirs of two dams south of the city of Derna. Both dams were destroyed and the flood swept entire neighborhoods with people, houses and bridges into the Mediterranean. (Included is a 43 sec. clip from Sky News from September 12, 2023) Patrick McCully was then a member of the UN Environment Programme’s Dams & Development Project. He was a co-editor of The Ecologist magazine in England, and is the author of Silenced Rivers: The Ecology and Politics of Large Dams. Patrick McCully joined Reclaim Finance in 2021 as Energy Transition Senior Analyst.

Zelensky's record shows he is anti-democratic and anti-union

Sept. 13, 2023, 1:55 a.m.
The USA is bragging that new super-lethal cluster bombs are working in Ukraine, while also claiming that Russia, too, is using them. But Russia condemns their use while noting that they reserve the right to respond in kind. On the political front western media do not mention that Zelensky's government has banned the major opposition party, and 10 others. And Zelensky has stripped 70-percent of Ukrainian workers of union representation. This has been documented by unions in Europe, but there has been no action or complaint by the CLC or the AFL-CIO. Anti-war activists must bring these matters to the forefront.

Our second episode is focused on how governmental support, funding, artists, and audiences have changed and what arts and cultural organizations are doing to support, reinvent, and invigorate the sector. Join us to learn about various angles of this work and how you can get engaged.

Tennis Anyone? James Martinez on Tennis Ball Waste

Sept. 12, 2023, 10:56 p.m.
Did you know that over 100,000 tennis balls are used in an average grand slam tournament? And unfortunately, they cannot be recycled. Given the plethora of tennis matches played across the globe in an average year, we are talking about roughly 330 million tennis balls going into landfills annually. This week on Sea Change Radio, we speak with Associated Press reporter, James Martinez, an avid tennis fan and player, who serves up some insight into tennis ball manufacturing, this waste issue, and some of the creative efforts to help solve the problem – and show the planet a little love.
