Justice Belied: The Unbalanced Scales of International Criminal Justice (Reviewed)

April 16, 2015, 9:45 p.m.
Robin Philpot discusses the reviews, feedback and the truths of Justice Belied: the Unbalanced Scales of International Criminal Justice (Nov. 2014). Philpot concludes that the International Criminal Justice project must be forsaken if justice, rather than political injustice and impunity, is to prevail. Phil Taylor, one of the contributors to Justice Belied, notes that the international criminal courts defy equality and sovereignty of states and have reinstated colonialism's culture of impunity. Robin and Phil also discuss the huge demonstrations in Quebec, at least 75,000 marchers --mostly students and union members joined by college professors. On April 2, there were 135,000 students on strike. The common cause is against austerity, and all are unified and mobilized against police repression.
