Riki Ott recounts her experiences and lessons learned fighting the oil industry. From surviving the Exxon Valdez spill to traveling North America working with communities affected by oil to her current rewriting the National Contingency Plan for oil spill response.
Dr. Riki Ott was invited by Tar Sands Free Midwest to chair a strategy meeting to develop an action plan in response to the BP Whiting spill into Lake Michigan in late March. Crucial questions still need to be answered. Both Chicago area and NW Indiana residents are organizing to prevent British Petroleum's further degradation of Lake Michigan and its surrounding communities.

I have been asked, time and again, about my background, as well as how and why I got involved in the alternative media. Having answered the same types of questions over and over again has gotten quite tiresome for me, so I figured it would be best to just compile the most common types of questions Iâve received over the years and answer them, one right after another, in the form of a 2-part podcast that ultimately took 4 hours to answer.
