On April 04, my family will be mourning the 10th anniversary of Casey's murder in Iraq in 2004.
Casey was a US soldier who was horribly lied to by an Army recruiter and to help pay for college and serve (he thought) his country, he enlisted in 2000.
Of course, as Iraq War Veteran, Michael Prysner lays out,
war is NOT for "freedom" or anything good--the Empire counts on obedient drones in the form of human beings to carry out its program of War for Profit of the few and global hegemony.
Don't buy into it and help Michael and his organization

Next, Sean Swain talks about the defendants of the Lucasville Uprising case. www.seanswain.org
The main segment is a discussion with Sonny, a German anarchist involved in resistance to the operation and spreading of the Lignite Carbon mine and subsequent destruction of the nearby environment by RWE. Sonny talks about the resistance there, the displacement of animals, devastation of the landscape and the eviction of 55,000 people over the years from local villages to expand the mine.
This week's discussion happened as news came from the Hambach resistors that the state was in the process of evicting the forest defenders. On 3/29/13 Sonny and I got back together to talk about updates on the situation.

United Parcel Services ( UPS ) workers, numerous elected officials and Teamsters Local 804 members in Queens delivered 100,000 petition signatures in support of the 250 drivers whose jobs are on the line. UPS has issued termination notices to the Teamster drivers for participating in a walkout and protest after the company fired a union activist in violation of a signed agreement. What began as a routine disciplinary matter has become a flashpoint for workers rights in New York City.

She has proposed charters take over management of the schools entirely. She is also establishing nine more renew schools, in which she will give principals the right to select their own teaching staffs. Out of the Woods is an earthy, wires and wood, mostly acoustic program featuring some of the best new and established artists from the worlds of folk, bluegrass, singer-songwriters, alt.country, Americana, classic country, old-time, Celtic, and everything that falls in between. The show is an unpredictable mix flowing like a river between moods, often with an edge or in a melancholy minor key. On occasion, Out of the Woods features interviews and live in-studio performances with national and international touring musicians. Past guests have included artists such as Bela Fleck, Si Kahn, Brown Bird, Dana Robinson, Steve Gillette & Cindy Mangsen, Bill Bourne, Karl Shiflett, Rachel Bissex, Darryl Purpose, Bow Thayer, Cosy Sheridan and many others. Out of the Woods grew out of Jon 'Chip' Colcord's former acoustic programs, The Song Swap and Music For The Mountain, separate folk and bluegrass programs which aired in New Hampshire during the 1990s. As a child, Colcord grew up a ravenous music fan with an ear for both rock and folk, from Arlo Guthrie to Aerosmith.
