Dr. Lincoln, Senior Scientist at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory & author, discusses the recent announcement of a huge new advance in the search for the Higgs Boson and what it means for humanity. Dr. Lincoln's primary research interest is the search for subatomic particles smaller than quarks and he has co-authored hundreds of scientific papers and has lectured in North America, Europe and Asia. He is a strong proponent of bringing the physics frontier to a lay audience. He is the author of Understanding the Universe: From Quarks to the Cosmos and The Quantum Frontier: The Large Hadron Collider.
Sandra Kobrin, journalist and author, discusses the book she co-authored with Gloria Killian, "Full Circle" which tells the story of Gloria Killian, an innocent woman framed and convicted of a murder she had nothing to do with and despite the fact that many of the authorities were full aware of the huge irregularities and lies that ran through her case and provided more than enough evidence to cause reasonable doubt about her guilt and even proved her innocence. Gloria did 18 years in prison before she was able to fight her way out. Gloria's story is also a compelling exposure of the conditions faced by women in prison.

In the past Sea Change Radio has sought the input of journalists and policy-makers on President Obamaâs environmental record. So far, however, we have not looked at his challenger, Mitt Romney. Many onlookers find themselves baffled as they try to make sense of this candidateâs positions on multiple topics, including climate change, the Environmental Protection Agency, and energy policy. This week on Sea Change Radio, host Alex Wise talks with environmental journalist Neela Banerjee. A Washington DC-based reporter for the LA Times and Chicago Tribune, Banerjee helps shed some light on the Republican candidate who wants so badly to lead the United States. She discusses Romneyâs past and current environmental positions and we get a glimpse of what a hypothetical Romney presidency might look like from a sustainability perspective.

Moving the Rail Yards out of the Inner City

The Social Planning Council of Winnipeg has proposed moving the Canadian Pacific rail yards out of central Winnipeg. The CP yards, which includes the Weston Shops and Logan Yards, are one of the largest in the world, creating a physical barrier between Winnipeg's North End and the rest of the city. Other cities, including Montreal, Toronto and San Francisco, have moved yards and redeveloped former railway land. There's more information at spcw.mb.ca.
