Jim Loewen, professor and author, talks about his latest book, The Confederate and Neo Confederate Reader, and digs into the hows and whys wrapped up in the deliberate denial of slavery as being at the heart of the Civil War. Jim approaches this historically as well as digging into the meaning it has for today, especially in relation the emergent fascists in the Tea Party movement.

This week on Sea Change Radio, host Alex Wise speaks with one of the leaderâs of a new generation of environmentalists, Van Jones. Jones is the founder of Green For All, an organization that advocates for green-worker training, in addition to two social justice organizations, the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights and Color of Change.
The author of the New York Times Bestseller, The Green Collar Economy, Jones served under President Barack Obama as the Special Adviser for Green Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation , and in 2009 was named one of Time Magazineâs 100 Most Influential People. Jones is currently a senior fellow at the Center For American Progress, where he leads their Green Opportunity Initiative and is a visiting fellow at Princeton University.
Sea Change Radio talks with Jones about helping make the green jobs movement relevant for all people, identifying the problems with the process and his thoughts on the tactics of those working against progress.

Vancouver city council not protecting low-income housing

The Carnegie Community Action Project says that the city could and should be doing more to protect low-income housing. Images of past abuse projected on FBI headquarters in DC

On Oct 2, for the second time in a week, protesters arrived at FBI headquarters in opposition to the raids on the Freedom Road Socialist Organization. This time images of past abuse were projected by movie projector on their building, much to the consternation of the "FBI Police" security guards.
