Welcome to "The Radio Art Hour," a show where art is not just on the radio, but is the radio. "The Radio Art Hour" draws from the Wave Farm Broadcast Radio Art Archive, an online resource that aims to identify, coalesce, and celebrate historical and contemporary international radio artworks made by artists around the world, created specifically for terrestrial AM/FM broadcast, whether it be via commercial, public, community, or independent transmission. Come on a journey with us as radio artists explore broadcast radio space through poetic resuscitations and playful celebrations/subversions of the complex relationship between senders and receivers in this hour of radio about radio as an art form. "The Radio Art Hour" features introductions from Philip Grant and Tom Roe, and from Wave Farm Radio Art Fellows Karen Werner and Jess Speer. The Conet Project's recordings of numbers radio stations serve as interstitial sounds. Go to wavefarm.org for more information about "The Radio Art Hour" and Wave Farm's Radio Art Archive.

James Mcinnes, Founder and CEO of Odd Burger
Dec. 22, 2021, 1:49 p.m.
Joining us this week in the China Shop is James McInnes, CEO and Founder of Odd Burger (TSXV: ODD, OTC: ODDAF). Listen in as we learn about the humble beginnings of his vegan fast-food chain, how a chance road closure positioned Odd Burger to succeed in the Covid Era and how James plans to expand his operations in the coming year.
About James McInnes
James McInnes founded Odd Burger in 2014 as a grassroots vegan organization that brought organic fruit and vegetables from local farmers to customers' doorsteps. Over the years they have transformed from a small organization to a meal kit preparation company, a food truck, a standalone brick and mortar restaurant, to having several locations with a manufacturing center and being the worldâs first publicly traded company in Canada and the United States.
Odd Burger's mission is to disrupt the fast-food industry by offering delicious food made from scratch using plant-based, minimally processed and sustainable ingredients that are good for people and the planet. The brand is fulfilling this mission by developing advanced automation technology, large scale plant-based food manufacturing facilities and a vertically integrated, locally sourced supply chain.
Currently, there are seven locations in Eastern Canada, with two new locations being built in Calgary, AB and New York, NY. Odd Burger plans to open 20 new locations in 2022.

Reacting to the Assange Verdict with UN Special Rapporteur on Torture, Nils Melzer
Dec. 21, 2021, 10:16 p.m.
This conversation was held Live on the day of the court ruling in the UK against Julian Assange, founder and publisher of WikiLeaks. The British Court of Appeal ruled that Assange could be extradited to the US to face charges under the Espionage Act of 1917.
The WikiLeaks website came to international attention in 2010 when it published a series of documents and films provided by U.S. Army intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning. These leaks included the Baghdad airstrike Collateral Murder video and the Afghanistan war logs. All with evidence of war crimes.
Six years later WikiLeaks published the Democratic National Committee email leaks which showed attempts to denigrate the Bernie Sandersâ presidential campaign and promote the candidacy of Hillary Clinton. Julian Assange was blamed for having helped Trump win the election.
However the Trump administration, with Attorney General William Barr, showed no gratitude for Assangeâs alleged support. On May 23, 2019, they charged him with violating the Espionage Act of 1917 and raised the bar for him to 175 years in prison and demanded his extradition from the UK. Ironically the current Biden administration fully endorses the Donald Trump charges.
Among the voices who condemn the granting of the extradition request are fellow journalists, publishers and defenders of free speech and whistle blowers. However among those who get their information from commercial media prejudice and bias towards Julian Assange clouds the issue. They call him a hacker, one who damaged the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign and a rapist. Allegations that even clouded the view of today's guest, UN Special Rapporteur on Torture Nils Melzer. What follows is an in depth exploration of the prejudice against Assange - who so urgently needs support - and where it is based on lies and illegal court proceedings.
On these matters at this time nobody is more qualified than UN Special Rapporteur on Torture and professor of international law at the University of Glasgow, Nils Melzer. Katie Halper and Matt Taibbi spoke to him on December 10, 2021. Matt Taibbi is an American author, journalist, and podcaster. He has reported on finance, media, politics, and sports. He is a contributing editor for Rolling Stone, and co-host, with Katie Halper, of Useful Idiots. Katie Halper is a comedian, writer, filmmaker, podcaster, and political commentator. She is the host of the podcast The Katie Halper Show.
Nils Melzer refers to his book The Trial of Julian Assange, due out in February 2022. You can find the over one hour program by Katie Halper and Matt Taibbi on YouTube and the Useful Idiots channel under Assange.
