Nov. 20, 2020, 1:30 p.m.
Phil describes the value of independent media versus the increasing concentration of corporate media. Increasingly, corporate for-profit media are merging with the state. They are deciding what is best for the Canadian media landscape, what we should and shouldn't know. In particular, the state-media complex are promoting hate towards China, and racism toward Asians in Canada. In this environment, actions such as Glenn Greenwald leaving the bought-off Independent and you donating to CIUT are increasingly important. Donald Drumpf Theatre Volume 201 Change of Heart

Nov. 19, 2020, 9:43 a.m.
An original radio theatre show each week, with most sounds culled from the previous week, about a fictional, theatrical presidency. Contradictions tell the story, with songs, skits, and clips from political news shows and late-night comedy routines. The definition of "radio theatre" is stretched here, with an updated Dickie Goodman and/or Richard Foreman-meets-mashup style sometimes, and a more straightforward take other weeks. Currently airing on 30 or 40 stations around the world, the network has ordered another two months of episodes. Anyone who would like to work on a production, or have their work air in this time slot, should contact info@wgxc.org.

"The Revolutionary Heart and Life of Clarina Nichols"

Nov. 18, 2020, 6:53 p.m.
The life of Clarina Nichols and her work in the early women’s rights movement in the United States has been greatly overlooked. As one of the country’s first female newspaper editors and stump speakers, Clarina Nichols spoke out for temperance, abolition and women’s rights at a time when doing so could get a woman killed. Unlike other activists, she personally experienced some of the cruelest sufferings that a married woman of her day could know. In her pursuit for justice she traveled westward facing all of the challenges of being a single mother and a women’s rights activist of her day with good humor and resourcefulness. Clarina Nichols is portrayed by Diane Eickhoff in this chautauquan style interview. We began when I asked Clarina about her childhood. The book Clarina Nichols recommends is “The Sexes Throughout Nature (Pioneers of the woman’s movement),” by Antoinette Louisa Brown Blackwell. The book Diane Eickhoff recommends is “The Looming Tower: Al-Qaeda and the Road to 911” by Lawrence Wright. This program was originally broadcast on January 13, 2007

Gabe Brown - Brown's Ranch in North Dakota - Part Two

Nov. 17, 2020, 4:16 p.m.
This is the last in a mini-series about protecting the soils of the world from erosion and poisoning by agricultural chemicals. Industrial farming techniques along with climate change are causing the loss of 75 billion tons of topsoils each year. On May 4, 2020, Jesse Frost had a farmer to farmer conversation with Gabe Brown on Regenerative Agriculture. Jesse farms off grid in Kentucky and hosts the No-Till Market Garden Podcast. Gabe Brown’s 5,000 acre farm in North Dakota is now run by his son and his son’s fiancé. Most of the Brown Ranch is in crops and grazed by cattle, sheep and hogs with a small area in no till vegetables. Gabe Brown is now a pioneer of the soil-health movement and has been named one of the twenty-five most influential agricultural leaders in the United States. On November 10, 2020, Gabe Brown was interviewed by Dr. Shawn Baker. The 17 minute conversation is posted on YouTube under: Gabe Brown- let's fix agriculture - Here is an excerpt. This concludes - for now - a mini series on Soil as a Living Being, and the efforts to halt the loss of 75 billion tons of topsoil each year - that’s according to the Food and Agricultural Organization of the UN.

is Capitalism Christian Dr Robert Jensen

Nov. 16, 2020, 2:55 p.m.
Latin waves host Sylvia Richardson speaks with Robert Jensen about our “dead culture” of state Fundamentalism. Jensen says that absolute beliefs that ignore life’s complexities are used to support the politics of empire. He gives examples of these, including market fundamentalism (capitalism), moral fundamentalism (of spreading ‘democracy’), or technological fundamentalism – the belief that technology will solve the environmental problems it causes. Jensen claims that capitalist fundamentalism is in fact incompatible with Christianity, which. like many the other great religions, are calls to recognize the universal human family. He describes alternative types of power that can lead to a hopeful future.
