Giridharadas was amazed when he received an invitation from the finance committee of the Dutch Parliament to discuss his book: Winners Take All, The Elite Charade of Changing the World. He had not expected to see the conservatives meet with him - but all parties showed up and engaged him for 1 1/2 hours. Giridharadas tweeted on October 17, 2019: They were something one rarely sees in politics: curious. They had more questions than answers. It was super-disorienting for an American. Anand Giridharadas is editor-at-large for TIME magazine, an on-air political analyst for MSNBC, and a visiting scholar at the Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute at New York University. He had been invited by the Dutch Parliament to discuss his book: Winners Take All, The Elite Charade of Changing the World. Fortunately, there are some excellent journalists out there with their fingers on the pulse, whose mission is to uncover environmental news both alarming and inspiring. This week on Sea Change Radio we are checking in with Bob Berwyn, an Austrian-based environmental journalist who writes for Inside Climate News and is in the midst of a three-month tour of the western United States and Mexico. Berwyn discusses the fragile ecosystems west of the Rockies, tells us about permaculture in Oaxaca, and examines the ethical dilemmas that both skiers and ski resorts are facing as the planet warms and snowfall becomes less consistent.

The Islamic Republic has lost a General, and the United States has lost the Middle East

Jan. 6, 2020, 7 p.m.
Crescent International editor and Islamic scholar Zafar Bangash notes that the U.S. assassination last Friday, Jan 3 in Baghdad killed ten people, the most prominent of which was Iranian Lt. Gen. Qassem Soleimani, the architect of the defeat of ISIS in Iraq and Syria. Because of the treacherous nature of the assassination, it also turned almost all Mideast governments and parties, even those normally pro-USA, into enemies of the U.S. government. Importantly, the Iraqi Parliament on Jan 4 declared that all foreign military forces must eventually leave the country. This is relevant to Canadians, because the Trudeau government had stationed hundreds of troops in Iraq. Zafar observes that some Western governments and the for-profit media have termed Soleimani a 'terrorist,' a label he certainly doesn't deserve. Simultaneously, these parties studiously ignore the role of the USA and its vassal states, including Canada, in the rise of ISIS, Al Qaeda, and the MEK in the Middle East.

Episode 2020.01.1&2. Irrationally Reprehensible Ambush of a National Defense General

Jan. 5, 2020, 4:47 p.m.
And we are off to the races. One who has 20-20 vision sees clearly, one who has 16-20 vision, sees remarkably well, better than clear in fact. In his last physical, Donald Trump was said to have wonderful eyesight, oh how the doctors were wrong. With the murder of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani; the International arena is whirling. Considered the number two in Iran, many onlookers have likened his assassination to assassinating the Vice President of the United States. Obviously unaware of the consequences his actions on any given day might bring, Donald Trump, at a news conference, spoke in a shaky uncertain voice as he described the military act as “terminating” Soleimani. In part one of this two part episode, you’ll learn my theory about why many Progressives are fearful of this strike, also what position the United States holds in this Global Economic Order. In Part 2 I read U.S Code 22 Chapter 101, Subsection 9402, created on August 2, 2017. It sets up a framework to assessing Iranian Capabilities, from Section 5 we read “An assessment of Iran’s asymmetric activities in the region, including - the size, capabilities, and activities of the IRGC, including the Quds Force”. Buckle up, things are going to get interesting. If you have any questions, comments or concerns please contact me at vphiamer.adis.ogaarwa@outlook.com I used various tracks from the following Soundtracks Hunt for Red October Call of Duty A Few Good Men Apocalypse, the Second World War I also used Clips from Democracy Now!
