Gooood Evennnnnnnnning! We look at a rarely known about album that was hosted by non other then famed movie director Alfred Hitchcock, yes, he appears on it....that's all we will say for the moment. Some delightfully date 70s instrumentals that will make you want a "shagin wagon" and something stinky simon and garfunkel sounds from the limburger lounge.

Jeff Blankfort: Iran Update

Feb. 13, 2019, 2:24 p.m.
Summary later.

Jeff Blankfort:News/Op:Washington: The Truth is Anti-Semitic!

Feb. 13, 2019, 1:41 p.m.
In this commentary, after introductory remarks about Iran and US efforts pointing to regime change, I devote my commentary to proving that Ilhan Omar was correct and had nothing to apologize for after warning the listeners that when it comes to the issue of Jewish money buying politicians, the truth is anti-Semitic. I start by quoting Glenn Greenwald on Democracy Now! saying the charge against Omar is ridiculous and describing how speaking about the Israel Lobby, as compared to others, is forbidden and to that has been added, with the backing of the Democrats, support for boycotting Israel. I add to that further proof in Omar’s defense, comments from pro-Israel Jewish journalists, Morton Kondracke, establishing the influence of Jewish money as a fact. I shift to the dominance over Trump by Sheldon Adelson and his pro-Israel anti-Iran appointment of Bolton and Pompeo to replace McMaster and Tillerson and refresh listeners with proof that Adelson’s first loyalty is to Israel. From there I describe how a list published by Mother Jones in 2000 of the top 400 donors to both presidential campaigns was overwhelmingly Jewish and that after I mentioned it in an article for CounterPunch books, Mother Jones took the list off its site. Then I reported on the appearance of Veep Mike Pence as well as Pelosi and Schumer at a post-election conference in Florida of the Israeli American Conference, initiated by Haim Saban and later funded by Adelson and PLAYED a 2:20 clip of Pelosi and Schumer telling Saban how the new House committee chair appointments will benefit Israel. It is “fundamental to who we are,” says Nancy. The good news, I point out, that the fact that young Democrats are turning away from Israel explains why all the senate candidates for the Demo ticket except Amy Klobuchar, voted against the Senate bill, including Harris and Booker who have been in AIPAC’s pocket. I conclude with an IRmep poll showing that 75% of Americans are AGAINST banning BDS against Israel.

Professor Peter Wadhams - The Fate of the Ice Sheet on the Top of the World

Feb. 12, 2019, 6:10 p.m.
In early 2019 news about accelerated melting in Arctic and Antarctic made me return to trusted sources. For the Arctic I returned to Prof. Peter Wadhams, the UK’s most experienced sea ice scientist, professor of Ocean Physics, and Head of the Polar Ocean Physics Group in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics at the University of Cambridge. As opposed to the Antarctic, a continent of mountains and valleys covered in ice, the North Pole is an ocean covered with an ice sheet that touched the coast lines of Greenland, Canada, Alaska and Siberia for 100.000 years. In only 30 years the retreat from the coast lines during the Arctic summer accelerated and an ice free Arctic in September may occur in the early 2020. And the Arctic winter is no longer cold enough to restore ice levels. Peter Wadhams has made more than 50 expeditions to both polar regions. In his most recent book, A Farewell to Ice, he describes in vivid detail the changes in the Arctic that he has personally observed over 40 years and the danger they pose to the world's climate. Dave Borlace runs a YouTube channel that he named: Just Have a Think. He sat down with Peter Wadhams in late November 2018 and asked to be brought up to date on the current situation and the prognosis for the future. My thanks go to Dave for his permission to use this excellent interview, posted on November 24, 2018.

Aaron Huertas on the Green New Deal

Feb. 12, 2019, 1 p.m.
Back in the 1930s, when the US was in the midst of an economic crisis, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt enacted a set of policies to protect the people of the US from the worst ravages of poverty: it was called The New Deal. Our planet is currently in the midst of an environmental crisis. Some lawmakers in Washington D.C. are asserting that this crisis requires a set of policies no less deep or sweeping than FDR's New Deal. This week on Sea Change Radio, we speak to political consultant Aaron Huertas to better understand the ins and outs of the initiative set forth by the progressive wing of the Democratic Party. We take a look at the history behind the idea, delve into some of the policy specifics, and consider how the two major political parties are responding to this Green New Deal.

Wilkerson, Isabel — America's Great Migration: 1915-1970 Part Two

Feb. 12, 2019, 9:33 a.m.
In the years between 1915 and 1970 almost six million black American citizens from the south migrated to northern and western cities seeking freedom and a better life. Our guest is Pulitzer Prize winner, Isabel Wilkerson author of “The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America’s Great Migration.” Her book tells the untold experiences of the African-Americans who fled the south over three generations. Wilkerson interviewed more than 1,000 people for her book. She is the first black woman to win the Pulitzer Prize and is a recipient of the George Polk Award and a John Simon Guggenheim Fellow. Her parents were part of the great migration, journeying from Georgia and southern Virginia to Washington D.C. In part one she discussed what she called the “biggest untold story of the 20th century.”  In part two of our conversation, recorded from her home near Atlanta, Georgia, on September 28, 2012, Isabel Wilkerson describes the inspiration behind her narrative non-fiction story of the six million African-Americans who migrated from the south between 1915 and 1970.
