So you couldn t attend the Peoples Summit, well we will provide a report back
on the historic convening of organizations and individuals committed to social, racial and economic justice June 17-19, in Chicago to bring together activists
committed to a People s Agenda that can enhance and expand issue campaigns and hold all elected officials accountable to popular demands for justice, equality and freedom. The Summit envisioned as deepening the relationship between participating organizations rooted in principled anti-corporate politics, development of community leaders, direct action not based on partisan identification, and strategic organizing to build power.
The Summit was devoted to key issues such as the Fight for 15, mass incarceration and criminal justice reform, voting rights and expanding democratic participation, a tax on Wall Street speculation to fund human needs and jobs, climate justice toward a sustainable economy, improved Medicare for All, the fight for free and debt-free higher education, secure retirement through expanding social security, ending HIV/AIDS, achieving Constitutional pay equity for women, and ending deportations and support for DREAMers, among others. WOW, that s a heck of an agenda and aspiration and we ll find out how it turned out!

In the wake of The United Kingdom's historic vote on Brexit, and as negotiations on the Trans-Pacific Partnership are winding down, we have chosen to look at the question of democratic sovereignty within national bodies, including Canada, with Paul Hellyer.
The Honourable Paul Hellyer served in the Canadian House of Commons as a Cabinet Minister under prime Ministers Louis St. Laurent, Lester Pearson, and Pierre Trudeau. IN this feature length interview, he talks about how the Free Trade agreements with the United States have undermined Canadian sovereignty, the re-direction of Canadian military and foreign policy, the economic consequences of borrowing from private banks versus the publicly owned Bank of Canada, as well as how the Trans-Pacific Partnership will finally dismantle whatever is left of Canada as a sovereign nation.

Radio Thrift Shop is a show that evolves and changes every few months. It is primarily an homage to freeform radio broadcasts of the 1960s and early 1970s. Radio Thrift Shop features a homegrown mix of vinyl records, 78s, 45's, LPs, private press releases, and a variety of tapes and homemade / self released cds. Each edition features a unique playlist of music released between the early 20th century & next week.

Out of the Woods is an earthy, wires and wood, mostly acoustic program featuring some of the best new and established artists from the worlds of folk, bluegrass, singer-songwriters, alt.country, Americana, classic country, old-time, Celtic, and everything that falls in between. The show is an unpredictable mix flowing like a river between moods, often with an edge or in a melancholy minor key. On occasion, Out of the Woods features interviews and live in-studio performances with national and international touring musicians. Past guests have included artists such as Bela Fleck, Si Kahn, Brown Bird, Dana Robinson, Steve Gillette & Cindy Mangsen, Kate MacLeod, Bill Bourne, Karl Shiflett, Rachel Bissex, Darryl Purpose, Bow Thayer, Cosy Sheridan and many others. Out of the Woods grew out of Jon 'Chip' Colcord's former acoustic programs, The Song Swap and Music For The Mountain, separate folk and bluegrass programs which aired in New Hampshire during the 1990s. As a child, Colcord grew up a ravenous music fan with an ear for both rock and folk.
