The International Action Centre held a memorial for Ramsey Clark on June 13th. Many well-known people such as Danny Glover and Alice Walker delivered eulogies about Clark's participation in many areas of struggle.
One area of struggle was indigenous. Clark worked for the release of Leonard Peltier, who was arrested in Canada and extradited to the USA. Peltier's arrest is part of a pattern, such as Sitting Bull who was later murdered by American authorities.
Ramsey also represented the family of Geronimo, who wanted his body returned to them, as per an agreement struck during his lifetime in New Mexico. Ramsey Clark explained the case for Geronimo's transfer in an interview with the Taylor Report in 2009.
