In this broadcast, a conversation with saxophonist, educator, and composer Colin Walters and guitarist Nick Zavaglia, a graduate student and alumnus, respectively, of the University of Connecticut. After graduating from UConn, Walters earned a masters degree in jazz studies from Juilliard in June. Zavagliais is currently a senior at UConn, majoring in jazz studies with a minor in entrepreneurship. Both were students of Earl MacDonald, Director of Jazz Studies at UConn. Plus music from vocalists Kristen Lee Sergeant and Hope Diamond and an interview with singer, songwriter, producer, and legacy activist Eugenie Jones. Her new self-produced release is entitled Players on her Open Mic Records.
