Saad Alam, 23, a student of Life Sciences and Psychology at U of T and his parents face imminent deportation to Bangladesh, unless the Minister of Immigration intervenes to grant him status.

Five years ago Saad Alam and his parents came to Canada. Shammi and Badrul Alam took two jobs each working day and night to put their son through school. Forced to pay international tuition, Saad, too took on
jobs, working in restaurants for less than minimum wage.

Saad and his family's study and work permits have been withdrawn. A departure order has been issued to the family and they are scheduled to leave on 03 October 2008.

Listen to unedited audio from the rally.
