The Keepers of the Athabasca Water Council is a group for our time. First Nations and settlers of the Athabasca watershed are banding together to protect one of the greatest water systems in the world. The tar sands exploitation activities centered round Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada are causing tremendous harm to the Athabasca River, its fish, wildlife and human inhabitants. Harvey Scott is a man with a deep love of rivers. He is also a strong person of good character who is quick to speak out about the devastation driven by greed that he has witnessed on the Athabasca. You will feel assured of the goodness in people when you hear Harvey speak of his connection to rivers that started on Ontarioâs Trent River during his childhood. The Trent and the Bay of Quinte on Lake Ontario became poisoned with industrial pollutants during Harvey Scottâs early years. He is determined to not let this happen to the Athabasca without giving his greatest warrior effort. This is a high-powered Stop Tar Sands interview!
