Come join me, Vphiamer Adis, for a recap of the 2012 election! Is this very late? Yes! Why'd I wait? Because I wanted to make some points that needed to be made! And some comments I wish I could take back - but I don't believe in censoring mistakes! Enjoy!
The following songs were used in this podcast: Paula Abdul – Promise of a New Day; City High – City High Anthem; Lyfe Jennings – I Still Believe; Pink – Dear Mr. President.
The following audio sources where used in this podcast: Librivox recording of Profits of Religion; Uprising Radio; Bubble Genius Radio Show; Mark Crispin Miller Speech on the 2004 Election.
This election is truthfully one for the ages. The course of both civilization and the planet at large hinges on this election as well as those we participate in over the coming 8 years. Everything from stopping the environmental catastrophe to developing and implementing new energy systems to reorganizing our economy to fit a new reality, mainly that of ended growth, waning currency values and a fragmented, dissolved global trading system forcing production back to localized and regional control. While this podcast does not directly cover these issues, I mention them in passing. What this podcast is about is breaking the illusions motivating the left and right political wings. Admittedly I am harsher on the left for disparaging those of us who desire someone better than Obama, yet Nicole Sandler presented a point that I couldn’t argue with, one that has made me consider rerecording this podcast, while chastising Jill Steins chances of winning she points out that the Green Party has no Congressional apparatus that could support her if she won. She is right; however with that in mind I pose this challenge to her and all those Middle Class Lefties that host radio/ internet shows. After voting for Obama dedicate yourself to building a coalition of parties over the coming 4 years that would enable someone like Stein or Rocky Anderson to govern effectively in 2016 then support those candidates as viable progressive and visionary options to the Democrats and Republicans if neither shows any signs of listening to their voices.
