Peter Bianco & Dr. Jahi Issa
 Pete Bianco  Contact Contributor
Dr. Jahi Issa was fired on August 17, 2012 from his position as Assistant Professor of History and Africana Studies at DSU. On March 1, 2012 student rally/protest against attacks on Black education, Dr. Issa was attacked by police and at the hospital was diagnosed with a separated shoulder and other medical injuries. At his hearing Police admit they had no probable cause to arrest him. Posters containing racial slurs, advocating lynching were distributed in the black community just prior to the student protest. Several weeks after the March 1 protest, Dr. Issa's former barber was found hanging on a tree in Dover.
The Wringer is a weekly program broadcast from Hamilton College with host Pete Bianco. It can be streamed live Wednesdays 8:00am-10:00am EST at

67% of all people incarcerated in Delaware are African-Americans although they represent less than 25% of the states population.

Dr. Issa is facing more than 2 years in prison for crimes he did not commit.

To contribute to Dr. Issa's defense fund go to the address below.

Jahi Issa is convinced that he was attacked because of his writings about ongoing attacks on Black faculty, Black students, and Historically Black Colleges and Universities and that the attacks on him are part of the systematic attacks currently directed at Black education and public
education. (See, for example, his article Jahi Issa, “The Ethnic Cleansing of Historically Black Colleges in the Age of Obama” article

Issa also thinks the attacks are directly related to his support for the March 1 students’ rally and concern about his ideas reaching students and a wider audience both within and beyond the university.

One of Dr. Issa's former student's, who travelled from New York City to testify at Dr. Issa's December 4, 2012 hearing that Dr. Issa did not hit an officer, was singled out and beat up by New York City Police.

Dr. Issa's former barber was found hanging on a tree in Dover. The state ruled that it was a suicide. Another African American man testified before City officials that he had escaped an attempted lynching.
