A selection of delightful rarities and oddities by the legendary songwriting, taking the form of a round the world adventure, and winding up very close to home with a special treat: a pair of newly discovered and newly-recorded gems brought forth by the composerâs grand-daughter, Debbi Whiting.

Richard A. Whiting is probably best known for the song âToo Marvelous For Wordsâ and for being the father of the great pop singer Margaret Whiting. But here we listen to some of the less famous but equally worthy songs of this wonderful composer, which comprise a journey from the middle east to the far east to the Hawaiian islands, and, lastly back home. Youâll hear such major hits of the jazz age as âJapanese Sandmanâ (done in a special concert arrangement with a singer who sounds exactly like Bing Crosby) and âUkulele Ladyâ (by the songwriterâs sister in law, Margaret Young, and a major star of the 1920s). Also featuring Maurice Chevalier, Ethel Merman, Leon Errol, Al Bowlly, Nora Bayes, The Revelers and many others.
