Chapter 15 opens with the Tura Satana WREK promo I never used, then shifts into screeching, nitro-fueled gear. The renegade ex-president George, once again in the hands of the violent and mysterious kidnapper Jack, lies bloody on the wet ground amid shattered hurricane debris, unconscious and caught in the grips of unreeling fever dreams: nightmares that cast light on the sickly interwoven intrigues of the Bush and Robertson dynasties; George's initial encounter with the drunken, blowsy Laura in a Midland, Texas, whorehouse; the byzantine, twisting path leading to George's theft of the 2000 presidential election; and finally, George's nightmare concludes with the real, true, authentic inside story of the 9/11 urban apocalypse as filtered through a LORD OF THE FLIES idiom, capped off with a dramatic and deadly confrontation between rival half brothers George W. Bush and Jeb Robertson Bush atop the remaining World Trade Center tower in the sliver of time before it is blasted into eternity.
