Your support is essential if the service is to continue, there are bandwidth bills to pay every month and failing disk drives to replace. August is a great time to see plovers, sanderlings and other shorebirds in Wisconsin as they migrate south for the winter. Shorebirds migrate long distances, some from as far north as the Arctic Circle to parts of South America. One of the largest plovers in North Americaâthe black-bellied ploverâcan be seen in Wisconsin now, but it will have already molted its distinctive black belly. Keep a sharp eye out at the shoreâs edge for sanderlings and sandpipers.
