Presentation on campaign to expose unacceptable behavior by the Jewish United Fund (JUF), a charitable organization which claims to speak and act on behalf of the Jewish community.

The Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago contributed nearly $1 million to the Islamophobia Industry from 2011-2014, and received millions from leading funders of Islamophobia in the same time period.

Come learn about #DefundIslamophobia (video here and report here), a campaign we launched a few weeks ago to force the Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago to stop contributing to and accepting funds from the Islamophobia Industry, what the Southern Poverty Law Center describes as “a large and evolving network of Islam-bashing activists.”


Stephanie Skora and Lesley Williams of Jewish Voice for Peace will be joined by Deanna Othman of American Muslims for Palestine-Chicago and Terri Johnson of the Center for New Community!

Not only do the JUF's financial ties spread the ideologies that enable promotion of anti-Muslim policies such as the current administration’s desired Muslim Ban, they also align with the JUF’s support for repression of Palestinian human rights both in Palestine and here in the U.S.!
