From June 30 to July 4th, the Halifax Symposium on Media and Disinformation took place in Halifax, Nova Scotia where over 40 presenters tackled various aspects of disinformation.

Dr Erin Steuter is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Mount Allison (Sackville NB). Her primary area of research is in the field of media analysis examining ideological representations in the news. Recent case studies include: media coverage of the "War on Terrorism", representations of alternative medicine, and monopoly ownership of the media in New Brunswick.
